      Irvin (6-2) picked up the win Friday in a 6-3 victory over the Rays, giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out six without walking a battter.

      Advice: Three straight singles in the sixth inning kept Irvin from recording his fifth quality start of the season, but the southpaw did tie his season high in strikeouts. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last 10 appearances (eight starts) dating back to April 15, posting a 1.88 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 36:7 K:BB through 52.2 innings over that stretch.     • Jurickson Profar homers, Padres demolish D-backs
      Jurickson Profar slugged a solo homer and also added a three-run double on Friday, lifting the Padres to a 10-3 blowout victory over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Profar has been an unexpected revelation this season in his return to San Diego, and even looks like he has a shot at making his first All-Star Game appearance. The 31-year-old journeyman clubbed a solo shot -- his ninth round-tripper of the season -- off Diamondbacks starter Brandon Pfaadt in the opening frame before tacking on a bases-clearing three-run double in the eighth inning to ostensibly blow the game wide open. He won’t sustain this near-elite level of performance for the entire season, but fantasy managers should continue to ride the wave until it comes craching into shore.     • Michael King hurls five scoreless to beat D-backs
      Michael King struck out five over five shutout innings on Friday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: King received double-digit run support from San Diego’s offense and was able to cruise to a relatively easy win, scattering four hits and one walk over five spotless frames. The 29-year-old righty has been phenomenal of late, allowing three earned runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts since May 4. He’ll carry a sharp 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 83/32 K/BB ratio across 78 innings (14 appearances, 13 starts) into an extremely favorable matchup on Wednesday afternoon against the rebuilding Athletics.     • Surrenders seven in no-decision
      Miller did not factor into the decision in Friday's 10-9 loss to Kansas City, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out one.

      Advice: Miller posted his worst start of the season, allowing nine baserunners and seven runs, each marking season worsts. The Seattle right-hander was cruising through three scoreless innings before allowing four runs in the fourth, rounded out with a three-run blast by MJ Melendez. The outing pushed Miller's WHIP north of one, as it now stands at 1.02 to go with a 3.81 ERA over 75.2 innings.       Advice: Profar went back-to-back with Fernando Tatis in the first inning and then added a three-run double in the eighth as part of a five-run inning. Through seven games in June, Profar has gone 7-for-25 (.280) with three extra-base hits and a 3:6 BB:K. The outfielder is only slightly cooling off from his impressive first two months -- he's now at a .325/.418/.496 slash line with nine homers, 42 RBI, 35 runs scored and four stolen bases over 67 contests.       Advice: King wasn't all that efficient, needing 98 pitches (63 strikes) to get through five games, but that's the only knock on his performance. He's been excellent over his last three starts, allowing just two runs on 11 hits and four walks with 16 strikeouts over his last 17 innings. King is at a 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 83:32 K:BB through 78 innings across 14 appearances (13 starts).
