    • Sent back to Triple-A
The Yankees optioned Andrews to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after Tuesday's game versus the Orioles.

Advice: Andrews was brought up from the minors before Tuesday's game to help make up for the loss of Cody Poteet (triceps) and Ian Hamilton (lat), but he will now return to Triple-A without appearing in a game. The 27-year-old southpaw owns an unremarkable 5.84 ERA and 1.53 WHIP through 24.2 innings in the minor leagues and has allowed 11 earned runs in just 3.2 frames throughout his MLB career. • Battling thumb issue
Fairbanks was removed from Tuesday's game against the Twins after getting hit in the right hand by a comebacker, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Fairbanks attempted to field a 103-mph grounder off the bat of Carlos Correa with his bare hand during the ninth inning of Tuesday's contest. The reliever threw multiple warmup pitches in an effort to remain in the game, but the Rays' trainers elected to pull him early. Per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, the primary concern is with Fairbanks' thumb, and he will receive X-rays to determine the severity of his injury. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago
    • Posts five-out save
Munoz earned the save Tuesday in an 8-5 win over Cleveland, allowing one hit while striking out one over 1.2 innings.

Advice: The Mariners turned to Munoz after Trent Thornton loaded the bases in the eighth. Munoz would proceed to coax a pair of groundouts to get out of the inning before turning in a scoreless ninth, earning his 13th save of the campaign and his third of four or more outs. The 25-year-old Munoz lowered his ERA to a pristine 1.47 this season with a 0.95 WHIP and 42:10 K:BB across 30.2 innings. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago
    • Locks down seventh save
Diaz earned the save in Tuesday's 7-6 victory over San Francisco. He pitched a scoreless inning, allowing one hit and no walks with no strikeouts.

Advice: After an RBI double by Pete Alonso provided New York with the lead in the top of the ninth inning, Diaz entered in the bottom of the frame to gather his second save since returning from the injured list June 13. The flamethrowing closer yielded a leadoff single to Jonah Heim before inducing a groundball double play and flyout for his seventh save this season. After struggling with an 8.68 ERA over 9.1 innings in May, Diaz looks healthy again and has regained control of the Mets closer role. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago
    • Yankees return Clayton Andrews to Triple-A
Yankees optioned LHP Clayton Andrews to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Andrews was just recalled before the game, and he didn’t pitch in his lone night on the roster. The move opens up a spot for Gerrit Cole to return Wednesday. Rotoworld 23 minutes ago
    • Pete Fairbanks exits after comebacker hits hand
Pete Fairbanks left Tuesday’s game in the ninth inning after taking a comebacker off his hand.

Advice: Fairbanks tried some warmup pitches afterwards, but the decision was made to remove him. Hopefully, this will just be a day-to-day injury. Phil Maton replaced him in a tie game. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
    • Edwin Díaz works scoreless ninth for save
Edwin Díaz pitched a scoreless ninth with a one-run lead for his seventh save Tuesday against the Rangers.

Advice: The ninth started with a bloop single that third baseman Mark Vientos probably should have caught in shallow left, but it appeared he got spooked by Brandon Nimmo’s arrival. Fortunately, the ball was hit by Johan Heim, who settled for a single when an average runner might have gotten a double. A double play followed, and Díaz then got a flyout to end the game. • Michael Lorenzen left with no-decision versus Mets
Michael Lorenzen pitched six innings of three-run ball against the Mets on Tuesday.

Advice: Lorenzen left with a three-run lead, but the Texas bullpen couldn’t hold on to it. One imagines he had higher expectations after joining the world champions, but the Rangers are now 4-8 when he pitches, even though his ERA stands at 3.00. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago
    • Kirby Yates takes first loss after unearned run
Kirby Yates took his first loss after giving up an unearned run in the ninth Tuesday against the Mets.

Advice: José Leclerc’s inability to get the job done in the seventh stressed the Rangers bullpen tonight. David Roberson had to get the final two outs of that inning and then wound up giving up two runs in the eighth on his 30th pitch of the night. Yates came into a tie game in the ninth and gave up the go-ahead run on a walk, a catcher’s interference and a double. The catcher’s interference was provided by J.D. Martinez, who again tested the boundaries of the batter’s box, but at least he didn’t break anyone’s arm this time. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago
