      Advice: Wheeler wasn’t at his most efficient tonight, but that didn’t really matter, since the Phillies went 10 innings without scoring. It’s Wheeler’s ninth quality start in 12 tries, and he lowered his ERA to 2.32. Still, the Phillies bizarrely are only 6-6 when he pitches, compared to 32-12 the rest of the time.     • Luis Castillo delivers eighth quality start
      Luis Castillo threw six innings of two-run ball against the Astros on Tuesday.

      Advice: It’s the fourth straight start in which Castillo has allowed exactly two runs. He hasn’t given up more than two earned runs since his third start of the year on April 8, and his ERA is down to 3.28. He’ll face the Angels next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:01 pm
       
    • Hunter Brown strikes out nine against Mariners
      Hunter Brown limited the Mariners to one run over six innings and struck out nine in a no-decision Tuesday.

      Advice: The result certainly wasn’t what Houston wanted, but Brown’s outing was awfully encouraging. Boasting maybe his best slider of the year, he got 14 missed swings and topped his previous season high for strikeouts by two. It’s his third quality start and just the second time he’s gone without allowing a walk.       Cortes allowed two runs on five hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Tuesday.

      Advice: Cortes allowed multiple runs for the first time in three starts, but it was still a passable outing for the southpaw. He allowed a total of nine runs (eight earned) over 29 innings across five starts in May while adding a 30:8 K:BB in that span. Cortes is at a 3.30 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 67:15 K:BB through 71 innings over 12 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in San Francisco.       Canning allowed three runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Yankees on Tuesday.

      Advice: Canning gave up a solo home run and an RBI single to Juan Soto, as well as an RBI double to Austin Wells. Canning has allowed at least one home run in four of his last five starts, the exception being his scoreless outing versus the Royals on May 10. The right-hander is now at a 5.08 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 41:23 K:BB through 56.2 innings across 11 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start in Seattle.       Advice: Canning is doing the best that he can. but his stuff simply isn’t as good as it was last year. After 11 turns, he has a 5.08 ERA and a 41/23 K/BB in 56 2/3 innings.       Nestor Cortes was uninvolved in the decision Tuesday after allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings against the Angels.

      Feltner allowed seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out one over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Guardians on Tuesday.

      Advice: Feltner finally had some struggles at Coors Field in his fourth home start of the campaign. Jose Ramirez tagged him for a two-run home run in the first inning and Josh Naylor added another two-run blast in the fifth. Feltner posted six scoreless innings against the Athletics in his previous start, but he took a step back Tuesday and continues to post poor numbers overall.       Triston McKenzie fanned a season-high nine while allowing four runs over five innings Tuesday against the Rockies.

      Advice: McKenzie left with a three-run lead, but he was denied a win after that was blown in the sixth. The no-decision left him 0-1 in his last seven starts, even though the Guardians have gone 6-1 in those games. But let’s just keep pretending win-loss records matters in 2024.
