    • Gausman strikes out 10 in win Thursday
      Kevin Gausman allowed one run and struck out 10 in six innings and picked up the win in the Blue Jays’ 9-1 victory over the Tigers on Thursday.

      Advice: Gausman’s 10 strikeouts were a season-high. The win was his third in 10 starts this season. He allowed just three hits and two walks against the hapless Tigers offense.       Advice: Judge extended the Yankees lead to 2-0 with a 414-foot shot off Luis Castillo in the third inning, his 15th long ball this year, tied for third-most in the majors, and his second in as many days. Judge has been on a tear this month, going 27-for-63 (.429) with nine homers and 17 RBI in his last 19 games.       Advice: Castillo dealt with traffic for most of his outing, he'd ultimately hold New York to a pair of solo home runs. The loss snapped a stretch of seven straight quality starts for Castillo -- he'd posted a 2.01 ERA in that span.       Luis Castillo went five innings while surrendering two runs in a loss to the Yankees on Thursday.

      Advice: Castillo allowed seven hits with three walks, and he struck out three. There was significant traffic throughout the outing, but the right-hander’s only runs allowed came on solo homers by Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton. This makes back-to-back starts where Castillo hasn’t had his best stuff, but he was able to battle to hold powerful lineups in the Yankees and Orioles in check.       Corey Seager is not in the starting lineup for the Rangers’ game against the Phillies on Thursday.

      Advice: It’s a day game after a night game in conditions that figure to be wet and gross, so it’s the perfect time to give Seager a breather. The shortstop has been heating up of late, hitting a home run in each of the last three games and six in his last 16 days. Even with the slow start to the season, his plate discipline metrics remained elite, so it was only a matter of time before he started to put up early-round fantasy value.
