      Spencer Steer clobbered a solo homer on Wednesday in the Reds’ loss to the Padres.

      Advice: Steer kicked off the scoring with a solo shot to left-center field -- his fourth round-tripper of the season -- off Padres starter Joe Musgrove in the opening frame. It was the first time he’s gone deep since April 6, snapping a bizarre 22-game homerless drought.       Marcus Semien went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple, and two runs scored in Tuesday’s win over the Nationals.

      Advice: Semien played the role of catalyst for the Rangers on Tuesday night, as he would eventually come around to score on both of his hits on the evening in a game the Rangers won handily by a score of 7-1.       Steer started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Texas.

      Advice: Steer moved from his usual left field to first base, replacing the injured Christian Encarnacion-Strand (hand). The run batted in was just his second in the last 14 games, but Speer continues to the lead the club with 20 RBI through 28 games. The steal was his seventh, nearly half of the 15 he had over 156 games in 2023. Encarnacion-Strand may miss a few more games, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, and Steer could add to his games played at first base. So far, he's made four appearances there.
