    • Yordan Alvarez goes deep in win over Yankees
Yordan Alvarez went 2-for-5 with a solo homer on Thursday, powering the Astros to a 4-3 victory over the Yankees.

Advice: Alvarez kicked off the scoring in the opening frame by taking Yankees starter Marcus Stroman deep for his eighth round-tripper of the season. It was the first time he’s left the yard since a two-homer explosion back on April 27, snapping a nine-game homerless drought. The 26-year-old four-category fantasy superstar is batting .245/.325/.448 with 21 runs scored, eight homers and 19 RBI through 163 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 5:07 pm

    • Luis Robert Jr. (hip) nearing rehab assignment
Luis Robert Jr. (hip) has resumed hitting.

Advice: White Sox manager Pedro Grifol told reporters Thursday that Robert has gotten past the slight setback he experienced recently while rehabbing out in Arizona and isn’t far off from starting a minor league rehab assignment. Rotoworld Today, 4:11 pm

    • Wins third straight
Lopez (4-2) earned the win Thursday over the Mariners, allowing one run on four hits over 6.1 innings. He struck out 10.

Advice: Lopez was excellent Thursday, holding Seattle to a lone second-inning run while recording a season-high 10 strikeouts. After an inconsistent start to the campaign, Lopez looks to be settling in -- he's won his last three starts while holding opponents to one run in back-to-back outings. He lowered his ERA to 3.89 with a 0.98 WHIP and a stellar 55:8 K:BB across eight starts (44 innings) this year. Lopez is currently slated for a home matchup with the Yankees in his next outing. • Paul Goldschmidt getting night off on Thursday
Paul Goldschmidt is not in the lineup for Thursday’s showdown against the Brewers.

Advice: Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol is giving Goldschmidt another night off as he attempt to break out of an early-season slump at the dish. The 36-year-old veteran slugger is batting just .195 (26-for-133) with two homers, 11 RBI and one steal in 152 plate appearances over 35 contests. Rotoworld Today, 1:26 pm
    • Not in lineup Thursday
Goldschmidt is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Milwaukee.

Advice: Goldschmidt had been slated to sit out Wednesday versus the Mets before that game was rained out, and he is again absent from the lineup card a day later. The 36-year-old is hitless so far in six contests this month. Alec Burleson will fill in for Goldschmidt at first base Thursday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:23 pm
    • Pablo López whiffs 10 in dominant win over M’s
Pablo López allowed just a run while striking out 10 over 6 1/3 innings in a victory over the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: López held the M’s to four hits, didn’t walk anyone, and threw 61-of-100 pitches for strikes. The only run came on an RBI single by Luke Raley in the second, and the only reason that run was able to score was Mitch Haniger reached on a bloop-double where two Minnesota defenders ran into each other. Outside of that the right-hander continued to impress, and he lowered his ERA to 3.89 — a number that is not indicative of how well he’s pitched this year. López will be a must-start even against the Yankees next week. Rotoworld Today, 1:04 pm

    • Earns win Wednesday
Clase (2-1) earned the extra-inning win Wednesday over the Tigers, striking out one without allowing a hit or a walk in a scoreless inning.

Advice: Clase was sharp in the 10th inning despite a fielder's choice and a wild pitch, and the Guardians completed their comeback on a walk-off Brayan Rocchio single in the bottom of the frame. This outing extended Clase's scoreless streak to five innings, and he's gone 12.1 innings without giving up an earned run. The closer is 11-for-13 in save chances while pitching to a 0.47 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 20:1 K:BB through 19.1 innings on the year. Rotowire.com Today, 10:01 am
    • Pops 11th homer
Henderson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored Wednesday in a 7-6 extra-innings win over Washington.

Advice: Henderson gave Baltimore its first lead with a solo shot in the sixth inning. That snapped a seven-game stretch without a long ball for the shortstop, which was his longest homerless span of the campaign. Henderson is tied for second in the majors with 11 home runs on the season, and he's added 25 RBI, 28 runs, six stolen bases and a .271/.344/.563 slash line through 36 games. • Scores thrice
Witt went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two additional runs scored during Wednesday's 6-4 win over Milwaukee.

Advice: Witt collected his fifth long ball of the campaign Wednesday, tagging Joel Payamps for a long ball to lead off the eighth inning. Witt also notched a double in the first inning and was brought in on a Michael Massey sacrifice fly. Witt has logged multiple hits in five of his last eight games with 12 runs scored and a .423 batting average during that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:35 pm
