• Moves rehab to Triple-A
Gallo (shoulder) went 0-for-4 with a walk, a run and an RBI on Tuesday in a rehab game for Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Gallo went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and three walks between a pair of rehab games for Single-A Fredericksburg over the weekend and received the green light to move his assignment to a higher-level affiliate. He served as Syracuse's designated hitter Tuesday but could see action at first base and in the corner outfield for the remainder of his rehab assignment. Gallo may have to settle for a part-time role once the Nationals bring him back from the 10-day injured list. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

  • Out 4-to-6 weeks
Reds manager David Bell said Wednesday that Encarnacion-Strand is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks after tests revealed a new fracture in his right wrist, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Initial imaging after Encarnacion-Strand was hit on the hand by a pitch late last month came back clean, but subsequent tests revealed a right ulnar styloid fracture. The 24-year-old has hit a disappointing .190/.220/.293 with two home runs in 29 games for the Reds this season. Cincinnati is starting Jeimer Candelario at first base and Santiago Espinal at third base against a left-hander Wednesday. The newly-added Mike Ford will give them an option versus righties. • Rays place Ryan Pepiot (leg) on 15-day IL
Rays placed RHP Ryan Pepiot on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 6, with a left lower leg contusion.

Advice: Taj Bradley was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move and will make his 2024 regular season debut on Friday against the Yankees. Fortunately for fantasy managers, Pepiot should only need a minimum stint on the injured list and should be ready to jump right back into the Rays’ rotation when that time comes. • Getting Wednesday off
O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: With southpaw Mitchell Parker on the hill for Washington, the left-handed-hitting O'Hearn will retreat to the bench. Adley Rutschman will get a day off from catching duties and will fill in for O'Hearn as Baltimore's designated hitter. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

  • Mets-Cardinals postponed Wednesday
Quintana and the Mets won't face the Cardinals on Wednesday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in St. Louis, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The two teams will make up the game Aug. 5. Assuming Quintana wasn't too overtaxed from his warmup prior to Wednesday's game being postponed, he could have his next start pushed back to Friday's series opener versus Atlanta following Thursday's team off day. • Back on track with sixth save
Estevez retired all three batters he faced with two strikeouts to earn the save Wednesday against the Pirates.

Advice: The right-hander pitched a scoreless ninth Tuesday in a blowout victory in his first appearance of May, which gives him back-to-back scoreless appearances after he gave up six runs in his previous four outings. Estevez has converted six of eight save chances and has an ugly 5.06 ERA over 10.2 innings this season, but a 0.84 WHIP and 13:0 K:BB are encouraging, and his status as the Angels' closer should be stable for now. • Idle against lefty
Fraley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Fraley and fellow lefty hitter Will Benson will head to the bench Wednesday while southpaw Jordan Montgomery toes the slab for Arizona. Luke Maile and Stuart Fairchild will join the lineup as the starters at designated hitter and in right field, respectively, while Fraley and Benson sit. Rotowire.com 33 minutes ago
