    • Available off bench Saturday
Young (back) is not starting in Saturday's game against the Blue Jays but is available to pinch hit or run, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Young was removed in the fifth inning of Friday's 9-3 win over the Blue Jays due to back spasms, and he was replaced by Jesse Winker. Alex Call will start in center field Saturday and hit eighth against Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman. Rotowire.com Today, 11:10 am

    • Young (back) out Saturday vs. Blue Jays
Jacob Young (back) is out of the lineup Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Young left Friday’s game with back spasms, and he won’t start Saturday’s affair. Nationals manager Dave Martinez did tell reporters that Young is available off the bench as a pinch-hitter or pinch-runner, so he should be back in the lineup in the coming days. Rotoworld Today, 11:09 am

    • Jacob Young pulled due to apparent injury Friday
Jacob Young was pulled from Friday’s showdown against the Blue Jays in the fifth inning due to an apparent injury.

Advice: No word yet on what happened to the 24-year-old speedster, but he was replaced by Jesse Winker when the Nationals took the field to start the fifth inning. Prior to exiting, Young had been 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored. Look for the team to provide an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:06 pm

    • Mike Trout undergoes successful knee surgery
Mike Trout underwent successful surgery on Friday to repair the meniscus tear in his left knee.

Advice: Officially, Trout underwent a partial medial meniscectomy. While there’s still no official timetable for his return, the Angels remain optimistic that he’ll be able to return to the lineup at some point during the 2024 season. Unfortunately, that leaves fantasy managers in leagues without injured list spots having to carry a zero on the bench for an indefinite amount of time, or risk the pain of throwing him back into the free agent pool and not being able to reacquire him when/if he does return. • Undergoes surgery
Trout underwent surgery to repair the meniscus in his left knee Friday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The three-time American League MVP suffered the injury Monday against the Phillies, and there wasn't much of a delay before he went under the knife. Trout remains without an official timeline for his return, but he'll rehab in Anaheim for the foreseeable future. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:40 pm

    • Moves up to leadoff spot
Young will start in center field and bat leadoff in Friday's game versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: Young batted leadoff a few times last month, but this is the first time since April 19 that a player other than CJ Abrams has been at the top of the batting order for the Nationals. Abrams is hitting second Friday. The Nats are facing southpaw Yusei Kikuchi, and the right-handed hitting Young has a .313/.353/.375 slash line versus lefties this season. • Kyle Tucker slugs eighth homer in loss to Guardians
Kyle Tucker went 1-for-4 with a solo homer on Wednesday against the Guardians.

Advice: Trailing by one run, Tucker led off the seventh inning with the game-tying homer off of Triston McKenzie. The 27-year-old star has gone deep in three of his last four games, giving him eight homers while slashing .298/.407/.570 with 21 runs scored, 21 RBI, and five steals across 136 plate appearances. • Jarren Duran reaches three times in win Wednesday
Jarren Duran smacked an RBI triple, scored a run and drew a pair of walks as the Red Sox triumphed over the Giants on Wednesday evening at Fenway Park.

Advice: Duran worked a walk off of Daulton Jefferies in the third inning and came around to score the go-ahead run on an RBI ground out off the bat of Rob Refsnyder. He then plated a run of his own with a two-out RBI triple that chased Jefferies in the fourth inning. He has done a nice job atop the Red Sox’ lineup to begin the season, slashing .269/.347/.400 with one homer, 15 RBI and nine stolen bases. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:09 pm

    • Jarren Duran, has three hits, SB in win
Jarren Durran went 3-for-4 with a run, an RBI, and a steal in a 4-0 win over the Giants on Tuesday.

Advice: All three of Duran’s hits were singles but each of them was at least 107 mph off the bat. In fact, he had three of the six hardest-hit balls of the game. His stolen base was also his ninth of the season and the lead-off hitter is slashing .268/.338/.386. The power has not been there this year, but if Duran keeps hitting the ball hard and getting on base then he’s going to rack up steals and continue to be useful in fantasy leagues.
