    • Pops homer, scores three times
Sheets went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, three runs scored and two walks in Friday's win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Sheets walked and scored in the fourth and eighth innings Friday, sandwiched around his solo shot in the sixth. He was recently stuck in a 33-game skid without a home run but he's gone deep three times over his last 10 games. He bumped his season slash line up to .235/.341/.417 with 21 extra-base hits and 19 runs scored through 220 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

    • Goes deep in win
Vaughn went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in Friday's win over Boston.

Advice: Vaughn singled and scored in the fourth inning before knocking a solo blast in the sixth. After a 36-game homerless drought to begin the year, he's gone deep six times over his last 22 appearances, including two straight games. During that span, he's boosted his season OPS from .507 to .633 through 237 total plate appearances. Rotowire.com 37 minutes ago

    • Yanked early Friday
Lorenzen yielded two runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.1 innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out one during the loss to the Giants.

Advice: Despite facing plenty of traffic on the basepaths, both runs allowed by Lorenzen were solo shots by Wilmer Flores. It was Lorenzen's shortest outing of the year and snapped his streak of four straight quality starts entering Friday. Since coughing up six runs against Oakland on May 8, he's registered a 1.50 ERA over his last five starts, lowering his season number to 3.05 through 59 innings. Lorenzen's next start is currently scheduled to be a road matchup with the Dodgers next week. Rotowire.com 58 minutes ago

    • Gavin Sheets homers, scores three runs in win
Gavin Sheets homered, walked twice and scored three runs Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Major league players had scored three runs in a game 159 times this season coming into the night, but this is the first time a White Sox player had done so. It’s also the first time Sheets has reached the mark in his 354 career games. It actually puts him at exactly 100 runs scored for his career. He’s been perfectly solid in hitting .235/.341/.417 for the White Sox. It’s just a mistake to ever ask him to play the outfield, something that will again become an issue once Eloy Jiménez gets healthy. Rotoworld Today, 8:30 pm

    • Dylan Carlson plates three in win for Cardinals
Dylan Carlson went 2-for-4 with three RBI in an 8-5 win for St. Louis over the Rockies.

Advice: Carlson singled home a run in the sixth, and that tied the game at 5-5. The outfielder gave the Cardinals an 8-5 lead two innings latter with a two-run double, and that’s the first two-bagger of the season for the 25-year-old. Carlson once looked like a potential fantasy stalwart, but injuries and inconsistent play have left him as a player that should be left on the waiver wire in the overwhelming majority of leagues. • Toglia gets Little League grand slam against STL
Michael Toglia hit a three-run triple in a loss Friday to the Cardinals.

Advice: Ah, the ole Little League grand slam. Toglia tripled with the bases loaded and came around to score on a Nolan Gorman error. The 25-year-old has shown some pop with a .407 slugging mark, but his .148 average and .179 on-base mark answer any questions about whether he’s worthy of fantasy consideration. • MJ Melendez homers, drives in four in comeback win
MJ Melendez hit a two-run homer and drove home four runs in a victory over the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: Melendez got the Royals back into the game with a three-run blast off Bryce Miller to turn an 8-1 deficit into an 8-4 game. He drove in another run in the sixth on a fielder’s choice. Melendez has been a major disappointment with a slash of .167/.233/.339, but the 25-year-old is far from bereft of offensive talent. Expect better things over the final 90-plus contests. • Ryan Bliss collects first MLB homer in loss to KC
Ryan Bliss hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Bliss absolutely clobbered a Daniel Lynch IV offering to left field in the first inning to give Seattle a 7-0 lead and Bliss his first ever MLB homer. The 24-year-old has hit just .188 thus far in the majors, but his .350 on-base percentage does show that he has been more than willing to reach via walk. There is some potential long-term fantasy upside in his right-handed bat. Rotoworld Today, 8:09 pm

    • Witt Jr. triples home tying run, scores winner
Bobby WItt Jr. went 3-for-5 with an RBI triple to help the Royals to a 10-9 win over the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: Superstar gonna superstar. With the Royals trailing 9-8, Witt Jr. spanked a triple down the left-field line to score the tying run, and he scored on a fielder’s choice to give Kansas City the win in a game they trailed 7-0 after the top half of the first inning. Witt Jr. has tripled seven time while driving in 47 runs, and remains as good — if not better — than any fantasy option at his or any other position. Rotoworld Today, 8:09 pm
