    • Jake Burger homers, plates two in win over Phillies
Jake Burger went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI on Thursday in the Marlins’ win over the Phillies.

Advice: Burger clubbed a solo homer -- his seventh long ball of the season -- off Phillies reliever Jeff Hoffman in the eighth inning before adding another insurance run in the ensuing frame with a run-scoring single. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:27 pm

    • Tanner Scott collects 11th save on Thursday
Tanner Scott tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Phillies to notch his 11th save of the season.

Advice: Scott was summoned to protect a three-run lead against the division-rival Phillies and set down the side in order on just nine pitches (six strikes). The 29-year-old lefty has converted 11 of 13 save opportunities to accompany a 1.54 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 36/23 K/BB ratio across 35 innings (34 appearances). He hasn’t allowed a run in seven consecutive appearances since June 17. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:26 pm
    • Gray hammered again for eight runs Thursday
Jon Gray allowed eight runs in five innings and took the loss against the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: Gray gave up nine hits, walked one and struck out one. It’s the second time in his last three starts that Gray has allowed at least eight earned runs. In that time his ERA has increased from 2.17 to 3.77. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Padres at home next week.

    • Kyle Schwarber leaves game with groin tightness
Kyle Schwarber was removed from Thursday’s game against the Marlins due to left groin tightness.

Advice: There should be an additional update regarding the severity of the issue at some point following Thursday’s contest, but it sounds like his early exit was merely for precautionary reasons. The 31-year-old slugger was 1-for-4 with a single before leaving the game in the top of the ninth inning. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:06 pm

    • Dealing with groin tightness
Schwarber was removed from Thursday's game against the Marlins due to left groin tightness, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Schwarber was removed in the ninth inning and replaced by Brandon Marsh. The extent of the injury will not be known until Friday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:01 pm

    • Shota Imanaga gets quality start against Giants
Shota Imanaga allowed three runs in six innings of work in a no-decision against the Giants on Thursday.

Advice: Imanaga allowed five hits while walking two and fanning three. It’s a marked improvement over his struggled against the Mets on Friday where he allowed 10 runs on 3 1/3 innings, but far from the excellence that we saw from the southpaw earlier in the year. It’s worth noting he threw five scoreless in this one, however, before a three-spot came across in the sixth. He still picks up a quality start while possessing a strong — if climbing — 3.07 ERA. Expect more good than bad from Imanaga in the second half of 2024. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:51 pm
    • Struggles again in rehab start
Kremer (triceps) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over 4.1 innings in his third rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. He struck out five batters.

Advice: Kremer got his pitch count up to 75 and looks ready to return from the 15-day injured list from a workload standpoint, but it's unclear if Baltimore is keen on slotting him back into the rotation while he's largely struggled during the minor-league assignment. The right-hander has posted an 11.42 ERA and 9:4 K:BB over 8.2 innings across his three starts. He's been out since late May with a right triceps strain. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:52 am

    • Dean Kremer struggles in rehab start
Dean Kremer allowed four runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday.

Advice: It’s another poor rehab start for Kremer, who now has an 11.42 ERA during his rehab assignment. He did strike out five while throwing 75 pitches, so it’s possible he could be up to 80-90 pitches in his next outing. Whether the Orioles decide that will come at Triple-A or in the majors is anybody’s guess right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:42 am

    • Imaging comes out clean
Darvish had imaging on his right elbow come back clean Wednesday, though he'll likely get additional imaging "for peace of mind," Bernie Wilson of the Associated Press reports.

Advice: Darvish has recovered from a groin injury and was originally expected to come off the injured list to start Tuesday, but that plan was scrapped when he developed inflammation in his right elbow. Initial indications suggested that the issue is minor, and the clean imaging seems to support that, though San Diego will likely be cautious with the veteran hurler's return. It's not yet clear when Darvish will return to action or if he'll need to make any rehab starts given the extension of his absence. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:59 am
