    • Throws 20 pitches in bullpen Friday
Hendriks (elbow) threw a second bullpen session Friday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Advice: All 20 of Hendriks' pitches Friday were fastballs, and the right-hander noted Saturday that three more bullpen sessions are planned next week. The 35-year-old is working his way back from Tommy John surgery from last August, and he is aiming to return to the majors before the end of the regular season. In his last full season in 2022 as a member of the White Sox, Hendriks registered a 2.81 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 85:16 K:BB across 57.2 innings. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • Scheduled for bullpen session
Burdi (hip) will throw a live bullpen session Sunday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Sunday will be the first time Burdi has thrown since landing on the injured list May 24 due to right hip inflammation. In the 12 games Burdi appeared in before the injury, he posted a 1.86 ERA and 1.45 WHIP across 9.2 innings. More bullpen sessions will be on the menu for the 31-year-old right-hander -- barring any setbacks after Sunday -- as he aims to return after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com 43 minutes ago

    • Ben Brown (neck) throwing bullpen on Saturday
Ben Brown (neck) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Saturday.

Advice: Brown has resumed throwing just a couple weeks after landing on the shelf with a neck strain. The 24-year-old righty appeared to be putting it all together this season with a pristine 3.58 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 64/19 K/BB ratio across 55 1/3 innings (15 appearances, eight starts) before hitting the injured list. He’s worth stashing in deeper mixed leagues until he’s ready to return in a couple weeks. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago

    • Slated for rehab start Tuesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Saturday that Mata (shoulder) felt good after his rehab start Thursday, and the right-hander will start again for Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: In his first rehab outing for Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Mata allowed two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out two over 2.2 frames. He opened the season on the injured list with a right hamstring strain, but he has been dealing with lat and shoulder soreness since May. Mata is out of minor-league options, and the 25-year-old right-hander is expected to work as a reliever out of Boston's bullpen once his rehab program is complete. Rotowire.com 52 minutes ago

    • Nick Burdi (hip) set to face hitters on Sunday
Nick Burdi (hip) is scheduled to face hitters on Sunday in a live batting practice session.

Advice: Burdi has been out since late May recovering from right hip inflammation. It seems likely he’ll be ready to return at some point after the All-Star break. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago

    • D-backs activate Zac Gallen for start against A’s
Diamondbacks activated RHP Zac Gallen from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Gallen finds himself the recipient of a tasty matchup on Saturday afternoon against the rebuilding Athletics following a one-month absence due to a Grade 1 right hamstring strain. The 28-year-old upper-echelon fantasy contributor holds a strong 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 60/15 K/BB ratio across 57 2/3 innings (11 starts) this season. Rotoworld Today, 10:12 am

    • D-backs option Brandon Hughes to Triple-A
Diamondbacks optioned LHP Brandon Hughes to Triple-A Reno.

Advice: Hughes holds an astronomical 10.29 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and 18/7 K/BB ratio across 14 innings (12 appearances) this season in the big leagues. He’s headed back to the minors this weekend to make room for Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen to return from the injured list. Rotoworld Today, 10:10 am

    • Sent back to Reno
The Diamondbacks optioned Hughes to Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

Advice: Hughes owns a 2.00 ERA through 27 frames at Triple-A, but he's allowed four earned runs in 3.1 innings since joining the Diamondbacks' bullpen Sunday. He'll now be sent back to Triple-A to make room for Zac Gallen (hamstring), who was reinstated from the IL in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 10:02 am

    • Reinstated from IL
The Diamondbacks reinstated Gallen (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start Saturday versus Oakland.

Advice: Gallen was able to build up to 67 pitches while throwing bullpen sessions and sim games during his time on the injured list, so it's possible he'll be under a pitch count as he makes his first start since May 30. In a corresponding move, Brandon Hughes was optioned to Triple-A Reno. Rotowire.com Today, 9:56 am
