    • Homer, two RBI in win
Contreras went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a 7-6 win over the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: Contreras hit an RBI single in the fifth inning and tied the game with a solo home run in the ninth. The catcher went just 4-for-23 in June after returning from the injured list but has five hits and two home runs in his past four games. On the season, he is hitting .265 with eight home runs, 17 RBI and 25 runs scored over 178 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:19 pm
    • Escapes with save
Doval allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning Friday, striking out one and earning a save over Cleveland.

Advice: Doval put the first two batters of the inning on base but escaped the jam to close out the 4-2 win. It was his third straight save conversion, and he's now 17 for 20 in opportunities this season. Doval has not looked like his usual self, however, as his current ERA and WHIP of 4.04 and 1.54, respectively, are both career highs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:58 pm
    • Willson Contreras ties game with homer in ninth
Willson Contreras went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and walk in the Cardinals’ 7-6 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Contreras’ homer finally brought the Cardinals all the way back after trailing 5-0 early in this game. He has yet to get going after returning from the IL late in June, but the long ball was his second in three games and this was his first multi-hit game since coming back. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:27 pm
    • Set to return Tuesday
Schwarber (groin) is expected to be activated off the injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Dodgers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Schwarber has been working through drills at 90 percent intensity, per Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia, and the 31-year-old slugger will run the bases Saturday in the last step in his rehab program before he rejoins the team. Schwarber is slashing .250/.373/447 with 17 home runs, 49 RBI and a .820 OPS over 367 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:18 pm

    • Posts big offensive line Thursday
O'Neill went 3-for-5 with a double, a walk, a run, two RBI and two stolen bases in a 6-5 extra-innings win against Miami on Thursday.

Advice: O'Neill accounted for three of Boston's eight total hits to record his third consecutive multi-hit effort. He came up big in extra frames, recording an RBI single in the 11th inning and adding the game-winning RBI on a double in the 12th. O'Neill also collected two thefts in the contest after notching just one steal (on one attempt) over his first 60 games of the season. Swiping bags probably won't become a trend for the outfielder moving forward, though it's worth noting that he stole 29 combined bases across the 2021 and 2022 campaigns while with St. Louis. • Surrenders four runs in defeat
Bassitt (7-7) took the loss against Houston on Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

Advice: Bassitt got off to a terrible start in allowing six of the first seven batters he faced to reach base, resulting in three Astros runs. The veteran hurler bounced back to give up just one more run over the remainder of his five frames, but the first-inning damage was enough to send him to his seventh loss of the season. Bassitt had been rolling coming into Thursday, posting a 1.41 ERA across his previous five starts, and the four runs he yielded against Houston were his most since he gave up seven runs against the Dodgers on April 26. Bassitt's overall numbers this season have been pretty much in line with what fantasy managers have come to expect from him -- he has a 3.43 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 94:41 K:BB across 102.1 frames. • Converts 16th save
Doval allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Thursday's 4-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Doval has converted his first two save chances in July after a tumultuous June that saw him produce two four-run blowups. He's allowed one run over his last seven innings, converting four of his five save chances in that span. Overall, he's 16-for-19 in saves with a 4.15 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 46:22 K:BB through 34.2 innings, though his status as the Giants' closer hasn't been threatened. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:07 pm
    • Doval picks up 16th save against Braves Thursday
Camilo Doval tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Braves on Thursday.

Advice: The save was his 16th of the season. Doval recorded two strikeouts and allowed one hit in the ninth inning. He has a 4.15 ERA on the season, but continues to be a reliable source of saves for fantasy managers. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:00 pm
    • Continues to pitch better
Neris tossed a scoreless inning of relief in Thursday's 10-2 win over the Phillies. He allowed one hit and struck out two.

Advice: After a rough patch in the middle of June, Neris has now strung together four straight scoreless appearances. That's allowed the veteran reliever to lower his season ERA to a more respectable 4.11. Neris logged a stellar 1.71 ERA across 68.1 innings last year for the Astros, so there is potential for continued improvement in 2024. The better play has also likely kept him locked into the closer role for the time being. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:30 pm
