    • Slugs 12th homer
Alonso went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 8-7 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Another bullpen meltdown wasted a big night from the Mets' offense, as Alonso's seven-inning solo shot off Nick Avila was New York's third homer of the game. The first baseman extended his hitting streak to nine games, and over the last 15 contests Alonso is slashing .313/.362/.609 with four of his 12 homers on the season and 10 of his 26 RBI. • Set for rehab assignment
Kwan (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Lake County on Saturday.

Advice: Kwan is scheduled to play both Saturday and Sunday. It's not clear if he'll be moved up to another affiliate following those games, but it seems Kwan has a good chance to beat the four-week projection he was given when he went on the injured list May 6. The Guardians' current road trip features a three-game series from Monday to Wednesday at Colorado before they come home for six games beginning Friday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:01 pm

    • Goes yard in win
Torres went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-0 win over the Padres.

Advice: Torres has gone 12-for-45 (.267) over his last 12 contests, adding three homers and eight RBI in that span. The second baseman started the year slow, but he's come around over the last couple of weeks while retaining a near-everyday role. For the season, he's slashing .221/.298/.318 with four homers, 15 RBI, 25 runs scored, seven doubles and four stolen bases over 219 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:49 pm
    • Steven Kwan to start rehab assignment on Saturday
Steven Kwan (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Single-A Lake County on Saturday.

Advice: He’ll play two games there over the weekend, then if all goes well he’ll join the Guardians for Monday’s series opener against the Rockies in Colorado. Kwan has been sidelined since May 4 due to a left hamstring strain. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:10 pm

    • Ronald Acuña Jr. homers in loss
Ronald Acuña Jr. went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run on Friday in a loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Acuña sent Bailey Falter packing in the eighth inning, but only cut the Pirates lead to 11-3. The full season line remains a disappointment, but his OPS has trickled up to .712 which is in the same range as teammates Ozzie Albies and Matt Olson. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:40 pm

    • Brandon Lowe scores lone run in loss to Royals
Brandon Lowe went 1-for-3 and scored the Rays’ lone run in Friday night’s loss to the Royals.

Advice: Lowe smacked a one-out single off of Seth Lugo in the opening inning and wound up coming around to score on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Jonathan Aranda. He also drew a walk in the contest, reaching base safely in two of his four plate appearances. On the season, the 29-year-old slugger is now hitting .146/.239/.244 with a homer and four RBI in his first 46 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:24 pm

    • Royce Lewis (quad) heads out on rehab assignment
Royce Lewis (quad) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday.

Advice: The dynamic 24-year-old has been shelved since suffering his quad injury while running the bases on Opening Day. He should only need a couple of games there to get his timing back before rejoining the Twins’ lineup. He has always been able to produce when he’s in the lineup, but staying off of the injured list has proven to be quite difficult for Lewis early on in his career. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:13 pm

    • Beginning rehab assignment
Lewis (quadriceps) had a successful workout Friday and will report to Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday to begin a rehab assignment, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lewis has been sidelined since he suffered a right quadriceps strain Opening Day, but he's now in the final stages of his rehab program. The 24-year-old will likely need at least a handful of games in the minors before rejoining the Twins. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:08 pm

    • To miss at least one month
White Sox GM Chris Getz said Thursday that Jimenez (hamstring) is expected to miss around a month, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Jimenez was placed on the injured list Wednesday with a hamstring but no exact timeline for his return was disclosed. After missing two weeks to start April with a similar issue, Jimenez will face a longer absence this time around. Rotowire.com Thursday, 5:17 pm
