    • Goes yard in win
McKenna went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Sunday's 11-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: McKenna has gotten into the lineup against the last three southpaws the Orioles have faced -- twice in center field and once in left. The outfielder has three hits this season, two of which have left the yard. He's still unlikely to see much more than a short-side platoon role, and McKenna's stay on the major-league roster is likely to end once Austin Hays (calf) is activated from the injured list. • Homers in blowout win
Westburg went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 11-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Westburg did his damage early, lifting a two-run blast in the first inning. He had gone 0-for-7 over the first two games of the weekend series in Cincinnati. The homer was his first since April 21 and his sixth of the year, and the infielder has added a strong .286/.336/.513 slash line with 23 RBI, 18 runs scored, four steals, five doubles and two triples through 32 contests. • Stuck with first loss
Gallegos (2-1) failed to record an out Sunday versus the White Sox, allowing three runs on three hits to take the loss.

Advice: Gallegos hadn't pitched since allowing four runs without recording an out versus the Tigers on Tuesday. He was already on shaky ground before this recent stretch of dreadful pitching -- Sunday's outing puts him at a 12.00 ERA and 2.33 WHIP with a 13:7 K:BB over nine innings this season. He's still managed a save and two holds, but Gallegos has been leapfrogged by Andrew Kittredge and JoJo Romero for high-leverage duty in the Cardinals' bullpen. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago
    • Swipes bag Sunday
Melendez went 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Rangers.

Advice: This was Melendez's first multi-hit effort since April 19 -- he went 2-for-36 over the previous 12 contests. The 25-year-old started the year hot, batting .325 over his first 12 games, but he's since returned to his career norms. He's slashing a poor .186/.252/.363 with four home runs, two steals, 12 RBI, nine runs scored and six doubles over 111 plate appearances. Despite the poor batting, Melendez is still seeing a majority of the playing time in left field, keeping Nelson Velazquez at designated hitter and Dairon Blanco on the bench. • Notches second steal
Florial went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Florial had sat out the last two games amid a 1-for-16 slump, during which he had eight strikeouts and two walks. The 26-year-old may have a clearer path to at-bats with Steven Kwan (hamstring) heading to the injured list, though prospect Kyle Manzardo will also command a large role. On the year, Florial is slashing .200/.284/.417 with three home runs, two steals, nine RBI and five runs scored over 68 plate appearances. He'll likely continue to see most of his playing time versus right-handed pitchers with turns as the designated hitter and right fielder. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

    • Tosses six shutout frames
Assad (3-0) allowed four hits and three walks over six scoreless innings Sunday, striking out four and earning a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Assad scattered baserunners throughout his start but never faced any heavy threats. He's allowed two or fewer runs in each of his first seven outings of 2024, but Sunday's performance was his first quality start since his season debut April 2. Assad dropped his season ERA to 1.66 with a 31:12 K:BB through 38 innings. He failed to factor into the decision in his previous three starts despite registering a 1.76 ERA over that span. Assad is currently in line to start in Pittsburgh next weekend. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

    • Served first loss
Peralta (3-1) allowed three runs on three hits and six walks over five innings Sunday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Cubs.

Advice: Despite the command issues all afternoon, Peralta kept the Cubs off the board until coughing up three runs in the fifth inning. He took his first loss of the year and has now failed to complete six frames in three straight outings. During that stretch, he's posted a 6.00 ERA with a 17:11 K:BB. Peralta forced 13 whiffs Sunday but threw just 51 of 97 pitches for strikes. His season ERA climbed to 3.49 through 38.2 frames. As of now, it's unclear when Peralta will make his next start, as the decision on his pending suspension still needs to be determined. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago

    • Belts grand slam
Santander went 3-for-5 with a home run, five RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Santander already had a nice multi-hit performance in the bag before capping his day off with a ninth-inning grand slam in the blowout victory. It was his fifth long ball of the year and first since April 17, snapping a 15-game drought. He posted a .505 OPS over his previous 13 games since his last multi-hit effort April 20. Santander is now slashing .218/.295/.427 with 23 RBI and 15 extra-base hits through 33 appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 8:10 pm

    • Handed first loss
Lodolo (3-1) yielded four runs on four hits and two walks over five innings Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against Baltimore.

Advice: Lodolo got off to a rough start, coughing up three runs in the first inning. He held the Orioles in check afterward until Adley Rutschman knocked an RBI double in the fifth. Lodolo had allowed just five runs over 24 innings to begin his 2024 campaign before Sunday's hiccup. Despite the poor outing, he owns a 2.79 ERA with a 37:8 K:BB through five starts. He's currently in line to take the mound in San Francisco next weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 8:01 pm
