    • Plagued by long ball
Singer (4-4) took the loss Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: All three runs charged to Singer came via home run, with Shohei Ohtani slugging a solo shot in the third inning and going back-to-back with Freddie Freeman in the sixth inning. Sunday's start was Singer's first allowing multiple home runs and was his second time in seven appearances completing six innings. Through 14 outings, Singer owns a 3.39 ERA and a 76:23 K:BB across 77 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Rangers in Arlington next weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:41 pm

    • Five hits across doubleheader
Correa went 5-for-10 with two home runs and four RBI as the Twins swept Sunday's doubleheader versus the Athletics.

Advice: Correa played a massive role in winning Game 1 -- he opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the first inning and added a solo shot in the fourth. He was steady again in Game 2, though without the same level of power on display. The shortstop has eight multi-hit efforts over his last 11 contests, going a stunning 24-for-47 (.511) in that span. He was hitting .247 the game before the surge started, but he's up to .308 now with an .878 OPS, eight homers, 35 RBI, 34 runs scored and no stolen bases through 54 contests this season. • Launches another homer
Walker went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a two-RBI double and an additional run scored during Sunday's 12-5 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Walker slugged his fourth home run of the last five games, taking Drew Thorpe yard in the first inning. The first baseman didn't stop there, adding a single off Thorpe in the third and plating Geraldo Perdomo and Corbin Carroll with a fourth-inning double for Walker's first three-hit game since April 30. Walker trails only Josh Naylor for the most home runs among first basemen and owns an .820 OPS. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:22 pm

    • Lit up Sunday
Wheeler (8-4) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

Advice: It was a long day for Wheeler, who allowed four homers after having previously allowed only six long balls over his first 14 starts this season. The eight earned runs allowed matched a career high for Wheeler, who hadn't given up that many in a start since 2018. Sunday's poor effort raised his ERA from 2.16 to 2.84. Wheeler had won his previous eight decisions prior to Sunday's loss, which dropped him to 8-4 on the season. He'll look to get back on track during his next start, currently slated to take place next weekend when the Diamondbacks come to Philly for a rematch of last season's NLCS. • Christian Walker goes deep as Diamondbacks win big
Christian Walker went 3-for-5 with a homer, double and three RBI on Sunday afternoon, leading the Diamondbacks in a 12-5 rout of the White Sox.

Advice: Walker tagged rookie right-hander Drew Thorpe for a mammoth 432-foot (110.4 mph EV) solo shot in the opening inning that increased the Diamondbacks’ lead to 3-0. He then added a two-run double in the fourth inning that made it a 7-1 ballgame. With his three-hit attack, the 33-year-old slugger is now hitting .257/.337/.483 with 16 homers and 49 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:24 pm

    • Could start Wednesday or Thursday
Astros general manager Dana Brown said Sunday that Verlander (neck) could pitch either Wednesday or Thursday against the White Sox in Houston, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Manager Joe Espada suggested earlier in the day that Verlander could rejoin the rotation for the Chicago series, and Brown's comments help further narrow down a potential return date for the 41-year-old righty. Verlander was unable to make his scheduled start Saturday versus the Tigers after experiencing neck discomfort during his bullpen session Wednesday, prompting the Astros to push both Spencer Arrighetti and Ronel Blanco ahead in the pitching schedule. The extra rest appears to have done Verlander some good, as he was able to play catch prior to Sunday's series finale with Detroit. He'll likely try to throw another bullpen session Monday or Tuesday before the Astros lock him for a start against the White Sox. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:18 pm
    • Camilo Doval has ugly outing in rout
Brought in with a 13-2 lead in the ninth, Camilo Doval was charged with four runs in one-third of an inning Sunday against the Angels.

Advice: Ouch. The Giants just wanted to get Doval some work after three days off, and he wound up allowing four hits and two walks. It’s the second time this month that he’s allowed four runs, though it wasn’t nearly as costly last time. He’s been fine, if not quite as good as last year, aside from those two outings, so his gig is safe. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:17 pm
    • Suffers wrist contusion
Rengifo suffered a left wrist contusion in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Giants, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. He went 1-for-2 with a run scored prior to his departure.

Advice: Rengifo took a line drive single from Matt Chapman off his left arm in the bottom of the fourth inning while playing third base, exiting the contest thereafter. The 27-year-old underwent X-rays, which showed just a contusion, and he said that he expects to play Monday against the Brewers. Rengifo can be considered day-to-day for the time being. • Luis Rengifo (wrist) expects to play on Monday
Luis Rengifo (wrist) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he expects to play on Monday.

Advice: Rengifo was pulled from Sunday’s game after being drilled in the wrist by a ball off the bat of Matt Chapman. He did undergo precautionary X-rays that ruled out any fractures though and was diagnosed with a left wrist contusion. While he wants to play on Monday, it’s possible that the Angels give him an extra day off to rest. He won’t be looking at any sort of extended absence though. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:10 pm
