    • Posts steal
Suzuki went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-6 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Suzuki has gone 8-for-27 (.296) during his six-game hitting streak, though he hasn't posted an extra-base hit since May 15. The outfielder's steal Wednesday was his second of the campaign. He's slashing .254/.312/.389 with four home runs, 16 RBI, 19 runs scored and five doubles over 31 contests. Suzuki isn't having a poor year by any means, especially when factoring in his four-week absence with an oblique injury, but he's also not standing out in any particular area. • Will face hitters again Thursday
Cole (elbow) is expected to throw live batting practice Thursday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Thursday's session will be Cole's third against hitters and his first since throwing 30 pitches in a two-inning simulated game Saturday. There had been some talk after that session of the right-hander potentially next advancing to a minor-league rehab assignment, but it appears that isn't in the cards quite yet. Still, Cole seems to be progressing well in his recovery from right elbow inflammation and could be back in the Yankees' rotation by the the latter half of June. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:00 pm

    • Takes no-decision Wednesday
Wilson allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out one over four innings in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Wilson was just okay in his return to a starting role after making his last appearance behind an opener. This was the first time all year the right-hander has allowed more than two runs in an outing. He's pitched to a 3.19 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 39:19 K:BB over 48 innings across 14 appearances (seven starts) in 2024. Wilson is projected for a tough road matchup versus the Phillies in his next appearance, though the Brewers haven't revealed if that will be as a starter or a primary pitcher. • Won't start Thursday
Lopez will not start Thursday's game against the Nationals, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Lopez pitched on four days of rest for the first time all season Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) in 4.2 innings -- his shortest start of the season. Rather than sending him to the mound after a traditional four-day rest period again, Atlanta will push his next start back and give the ball to Ray Kerr to close out its current series against Washington. The team hasn't yet announced when Lopez's next start will come, though it's possible he simply moves back a day to start Friday's series opener against the A's. • Bryse Wilson gives up four runs in no-decision
Bryse Wilson allowed four runs -- two earned -- with one strikeout over four innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Wilson worked a clean first inning, then gave up a solo homer to Ian Happ in the second. Happ would reach base once again in the fourth and advanced to third on a balk before a groundout brought him in to score the second run. An error and a base hit to start the fifth chased Wilson from the game with two runners on and no outs at 82 pitches. While both inherited runners would score, on two runs on the day were earned. The 26-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.00 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 39/19 K/BB ratio across 48 innings. He’s set to take on the Phillies in Philadelphia on Monday. • X-rays negative
X-rays on Alonso's right hand came back negative Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Mets won't be able to confirm whether or not Alonso avoided a fracture until the results of his CT scan come back Thursday, but a clean X-ray is certainly an encouraging sign. The 29-year-old remains day-to-day after getting hit in the hand by a 93-mph fastball during Wednesday's contest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:02 pm

    • Earns fourth win
Dunning (4-3) earned the win Wednesday over the Diamondbacks, allowing three hits and four walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Dunning had to contend with some traffic Wednesday, though he'd manage to keep Arizona off the board for five innings, earning his first win since April 28. It's an encouraging bounce-back effort from Dunning in his second start back from the IL -- he took the loss in his last outing against the Phillies, allowing five runs (three earned) in 3.1 innings. Overall, Dunning lowered his ERA to 3.94 with a 1.20 WHIP and 53:22 K:BB across nine starts (45.2 innings) this year. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Tigers in his next start. • Undergoing imaging
Alonso will undergo imaging on his right hand after being hit by a pitch Wednesday against the Dodgers, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports.

Advice: The 29-year-old was struck by a 93-mph fastball in the first inning, and it's no surprise he's being sent for testing. Alonso should be considered day-to-day until more information is available Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:37 pm

    • Dane Dunning works five scoreless vs. D-backs
Dane Dunning struck out six over five scoreless innings on Wednesday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Pitching on extra rest due to a sinus infection that he dealt with last weekend, Dunning got plenty of run support from the Rangers’ lineup and held Arizona scoreless, scattering three hits and four walks over five frames. The 29-year-old righty has struggled to work deep into outings, pitching into the sixth inning just once over his last seven starts dating back to April 12. He’ll bring a pedestrian 3.94 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 53/22 K/BB ratio across 45 2/3 innings (nine starts) into a favorable home outing on Tuesday against the Tigers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:21 pm
