    • Aaron Nola goes seven in victory over Nationals
Aaron Nola lasted seven innings and allowed three runs Sunday in beating the Nationals.

Advice: A strong followup to his shutout of the Mets. Nola gave up just two hits, which were homers to Eddie Rosario and Jesse Winker. He’s completed seven innings in five of his last seven starts, and he’s 6-2 with a 3.05 ERA for the season. Rotoworld Today, 2:20 pm

    • Eovaldi, Dunning throwing bullpens Sunday
Nathan Eovaldi (groin) is throwing a bullpen before Sunday’s game against the Angels.

Advice: Both Eovaldi and Dane Dunning will throw bullpen sessions of around 15-20 pitches before the game. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters that both hurlers will be evaluated after to determine their next steps. Texas has been decimated by injuries to their staff in 2024, and the return of Eovaldi in particular would be a major boon for the defending champions. A timetable for both starters should be made clearer in the coming days. Rotoworld Today, 9:34 am

    • San Diego-Atlanta game postponed
Darvish and the Padres will not play Saturday after their game in Atlanta was postponed due to inclement weather.

Advice: The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Monday. Darvish will be pushed back a day to start Sunday, which would also mean delaying Joe Musgrove's (elbow) return from the injured list to Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:03 pm

    • Tyler Anderson holds Rangers to two hits in win
Tyler Anderson limited the Rangers to one run and two hits over seven innings in the Angels’ 9-3 victory Friday.

Advice: Anderson gave up eight hard-hit balls tonight, yet just two proved troublesome. One was a homer off the bat of Jonah Heim. The other was a double. It’s kind of baffling how Anderson has a 2.72 ERA with weaker peripherals than teammates Reid Detmers (5.19 ERA) and Patrick Sandoval (5.00 ERA). If the Angels can get anything of value for him in trade, they really ought to go for it. Rotoworld Friday, 11:12 pm

    • Quality start in no-decision
Paxton allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out two without walking a batter over six innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Friday.

Advice: Paxton did fine, though he gave up solo home runs to Stuart Fairchild and Tyler Stephenson to account for two of the three runs on his line. After posting just one quality start over five outings in April, Paxton has settled in with three in a row to begin May. The southpaw has done well at run prevention this year with a 2.84 ERA despite a 1.38 WHIP and 24:24 K:BB through 44.1 innings over eight starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:52 pm

    • Paxton has Quality Start vs. Reds, but no-decision
James Paxton held the Reds to three runs over six innings but picked up no decision Friday.

Advice: The southpaw allowed seven hits, and while he didn’t issue a walk, he also only finished with a pair of strikeouts. The 35-year-old allowed a pair of homers in the game — both solo shots by Tyler Stephenson and Stuart Fairchild — and saw his ERA tick up to 2.84 despite picking up a Quality Start. Paxton has mostly looked the part in 2024, and while there are injury concerns and always will be, there’s plenty of reason to roster him in fantasy while he’s able to get on the bump. • Ryne Nelson roughed up for eight runs in loss
Ryne Nelson allowed 11 hits and eight runs while picking up a loss and going only four innings Friday against the Tigers.

Advice: Nelson, 26, issued one free pass and struck out four. This makes back-to-back outings that the right-hander has allowed double-digit hits, and it’s pretty safe to say he isn’t fooling opposing batters right now. His ERA is now an unhealthy 7.06, and even with some issue in the Arizona staff, it would not be a huge surprise if he’s removed from the Diamondbacks’ rotation at this point. • Struggles again Friday
Nelson (2-3) allowed eight runs on 11 hits and a walk while striking out four over four-plus innings to take the loss versus the Tigers on Friday.

Advice: Nelson avoided giving up a home run for the first time in three outings since he returned from an elbow injury, but that was the only silver lining on a dark cloud in this start. He allowed five runs over the first four innings and then failed to get an out in the fifth as the Tigers piled on the offense. This was Nelson's worst start of the season, but he's generally struggled with a 7.06 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB over 29.1 innings through seven appearances. He's tentatively projected for a difficult road start versus the Dodgers in his next outing. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:08 pm

    • Evens record Friday
Anderson (4-4) yielded a run on two hits and two walks over seven innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over the Rangers.

Advice: The only blemish on Anderson's line was a solo shot by Jonah Heim in the second inning. The southpaw has won back-to-back starts after going 0-4 over his previous five outings. Despite what that losing streak may suggest, he registered a 4.08 ERA during that span, and Friday's start lowered his season ERA to 2.72 through 56.1 frames. Anderson's next start is currently projected to come in Houston next week. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:36 pm
