    Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Kelly (shoulder) is expected to begin a throwing program next week, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

    Advice: The right-hander has apparently been progressing well in his recovery from a right shoulder strain and is now on the cusp of resuming baseball work. Kelly will require some time to build his arm up before progressing to mound work and eventually a rehab assignment, so he shouldn't be expected to rejoin the Diamondbacks until sometime in July.     Blake Treinen tossed a perfect 10th inning on Tuesday against the Mets to record his first save of the season.

    Advice: Treinen was summoned to protect a three-run lead in extra innings during the opening contest of Tuesday’s doubleheader at Citi Field and needed just 13 pitches (nine strikes) to hurl a flawless frame.     Adam Ottavino allowed one run in the ninth inning on Tuesday in a blown save against the Dodgers.

    Advice: Ottavino got the call over Edwin Díaz to protect a one-run lead in the final frame and wound up surrendering three straight hits, including a game-tying hit single to Chris Taylor. The veteran righty managed to wriggle out of the jam without any further damage, but the Mets wound up falling in extra innings. Not great.   • Tyler Glasnow strikes out eight in no-decision
    Tyler Glasnow struck out eight and allowed two runs over seven innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Mets.

    Advice: Glasnow did his job in the front-end of Tuesday’s twin bill at Citi Field, limiting New York’s offense to just a third-inning homer by Francisco Lindor over seven strong frames of work. The hard-throwing 30-year-old righty notched at least eight punchouts for the seventh time in 12 starts this season, while also matching a season-high with four walks. He generated 15 swinging strikes and finished with a lackluster 27 percent CSW. It wasn’t his most dominant outing of his Dodgers debut, but he remains one of the few elite starters left healthy in the entire fantasy landscape. He’ll carry a stellar 3.04 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 95/21 K/BB ratio across 74 innings (12 starts) into a road tilt next Tuesday against his former team in Pittsburgh. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

  • Tylor Megill spins seven-inning gem vs. Dodgers
    Tylor Megill recorded nine strikeouts over seven scoreless innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Dodgers.

    Advice: Megill brought some of his best stuff of the season in the opening contest of Tuesday’s doubleheader at Citi Field, limiting Los Angeles’ star-studded lineup to just three hits and one walk over seven sharp frames. He threw seven different pitches, and also touched 98.1 mph on his four-seam fastball, in the longest scoreless outing of his career. He’s allowed two earned runs or fewer with at least seven strikeouts in back-to-back starts since returning last week from the injured list and is in line for another home outing on Sunday against the Diamondbacks. The 28-year-old righty is absolutely worthy of at least a speculative roster spot in all fantasy formats moving forward. It’ll be fascinating to see if he can keep this up. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago

  • Facing pitch count in return
    Eovaldi (groin) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list and will start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, but Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said the right-hander will be on an unspecified pitch count, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

    Advice: The 34-year-old suffered the groin strain during his May 2 start against Washington and will rejoin the big-league rotation without embarking on a rehab assignment.
