    • Ends up with no-decision
Pfaadt allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 6.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Twins on Tuesday.

Advice: Pfaadt pitched into the seventh inning for the second start in a row, but it resulted in him giving up a three-run home run to Ryan Jeffers that tied the game at 4-4. Arizona got the lead back in its half of the frame, but Pfaadt was already out of the game, leaving the win to reliever Kevin Ginkel. Through five starts in June, Pfaadt has allowed 17 runs over 30 innings with a 23:12 K:BB. He's now at a 4.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 86:24 K:BB through 97 innings through 16 starts this season. The right-hander is lined up to make his next start at home in a favorable matchup versus the Athletics. Rotowire.com Today, 9:57 pm

    • Brandon Pfaadt blows lead in seventh versus Twins
Brandon Pfaadt surrendered four runs in 6 1/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Twins.

Advice: Byron Buxton homered off Pfaadt in the fifth, but that was the only run he allowed until the seventh, when he gave up a three-run shot to Ryan Jeffers. He was at just 80 pitches at the time, so fatigue probably wasn’t much of an issue. Still, it’s hard to go through a quality lineup three times. Pfaadt remained 3-6 with a 4.45 ERA. He’s due to face the A’s next. Rotoworld Today, 9:17 pm

    • Will not appeal suspension
Diaz will begin serving his 10-game foreign substance suspension Tuesday after declining to appeal the ruling, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: While adamant he didn't use anything illegal, Diaz likely stood little chance of winning an appeal, so he'll get the suspension over with now. The closer will be eligible to return July 6. Adam Ottavino, Jake Diekman and Reed Garrett are candidates for save chances while Diaz is unavailable. Rotowire.com Today, 12:10 pm

    • Fans 11 in victory
Ragans (5-5) earned the win over Miami on Monday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out 11 batters over six innings.

Advice: Ragans racked up 27 swings-and-misses -- the most by any pitcher in baseball this season -- en route to his first win since May 22. Despite the five-game stretch of starts without a victory, the southpaw has been pitching well, as he posted a 2.70 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 33:9 K:BB during the drought. Ragans' 11 punchouts Monday were his second-most this season, and he ranks third in MLB with 120 strikeouts on the campaign. He is also tied for third in the majors with 12 quality starts. • Ragans records 11 strikeouts on way to fifth win
Cole Ragans allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Royals’ 4-1 victory over the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: Ragans gave up four hits, walked three and struck out 11. The win was his fifth of the season and first since May 22nd against the Tigers. Ragans is third in all of baseball with 120 strikeouts on the season trailing only Tyler Glasnow and Garrett Crochet. He lowered his ERA to 3.03 on the year. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians at home this weekend.

    • MLB suspends Edwin Díaz for 10 games
MLB suspended RHP Edwin Díaz for 10 games for violating the prohibitions on foreign substances.

Advice: The suspension became automatic the moment Díaz was tossed last night, though he can appeal it. Díaz said after the game that all he had on his hand was rosin, sweat and dirt. The Mets will go back to getting by with Adam Ottavino and Reed Garrett in the ninth. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:30 pm

    • Handed 10-game suspension
Major League Baseball suspended Diaz for 10 games Monday for violating prohibitions on foreign substances, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Diaz was ejected from Sunday's 5-2 win over the Cubs after failing the "sticky substance" test from the crew chief upon entering the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. The suspension will go into effect beginning with Tuesday's game against the Yankees, and assuming he elects not to appeal the ban, the 30-year-old closer won't be eligible to pitch until July 6 against the Pirates. Adam Ottavino and Reed Garrett will be the likely candidates to step in for save opportunities during Diaz's absence. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:27 pm

    • Dominates Giants
Gray (9-4) picked up the win Sunday against San Francisco, allowing one run on one hit with no walks across seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Gray took a perfect game into the seventh inning before Patrick Bailey launched a solo home run with two outs. Although the Cardinals' bullpen gave up two more runs, Gray was able to claim his ninth win of 2024, his most wins in a season since 2019. The 34-year-old has completed at least seven innings in three consecutive starts and owns a 2.95 ERA along with an 11.1 K/9 across 83.1 innings. He's on track to face the Reds during a four-game series late next week. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:45 pm

    • Ejected, faces 10-game ban
Diaz was ejected from Sunday's game against the Cubs for the use of an illegal substance following an inspection from the crew chief, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports.

Advice: Diaz failed the "sticky substance" check upon entering the game in the bottom of the ninth inning with the Mets up 5-2. If MLB concurs with the crew chief's assessment, Diaz will receive an automatic 10-game suspension, so the Mets may be without their closer for some time. Expect a decision on a suspension to be announced before the Mets' next game Tuesday versus the Yankees. Reed Garrett and Adam Ottavino would likely be first in line for saves should Diaz receive a 10-game ban and choose not to appeal. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:13 pm
