    • Chris Sale’s dominance continues against Giants
Chris Sale struck out nine batters across six innings in a 3-1 win over the Giants on Wednesday while allowing just one run. He walked two batters and earned his league-leading 11th win of the season.

Advice: Once again, Sale was magnificent in this start. The Giants were helpless against his vaunted slider as it earned five swings-and-misses and an additional 12 called strikes. He was ahead in the count all night and showed a willingness to use that slider in whatever count he needed it. His 11th win tied Seth Lugo for the league lead and he could be well on his way to his first Cy Young award at 35-years-old. What a remarkable season it’s been for Sale. Rotoworld Today, 7:02 pm

    • Exits with strained lat
Jones was removed from his start Wednesday versus St. Louis due to a right lat strain, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Jones managed to get through five innings of one-run ball while striking out five batters and walking two before coming out of Wednesday's contest. The 22-year-old said after the game that he could have kept pitching if necessary, but the team opted for a cautious approach in order to prevent his injury from worsening. Pittsburgh will keep an eye on Jones' lat as his next start approaches, but the initial level of concern seems relatively low. Rotowire.com Today, 7:01 pm

    • Jordan Hicks solid, loses touch in fifth inning
Jordan Hicks allowed three earned runs across five innings on Wednesday against the Braves. He allowed eight hits and two walks while striking out six in defeat.

Advice: Four of the eight hits the Braves got off Hicks came with two outs in that fifth inning when the lineup turned over for a third time. The inning could have been worse if Austin Riley hadn’t been thrown out at the plate. Still, it was nice to see Hicks’ sweeper induce 10 swings-and-misses as he leaned on that pitch instead of his splitter. Rotoworld Today, 6:58 pm

    • Jared Jones completes five frames vs. Cardinals
Jared Jones struck out five and yielded one run over five innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.

Advice: Pittsburgh continues to carefully manage their prized rookie right-hander’s workload this season as Jones was limited to just 78 pitches (52 strikes) over five innings in this one after spinning seven innings on 94 pitches his last time out against the Rays. The 22-year-old rookie sensation generated 10 swinging strikes, with eight of those coming on his slider alone, and finished with a solid 33 percent CSW. He’ll bring a strong 3.56 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 98/27 K/BB ratio across 91 innings (16 starts) into a home outing on Monday against the Mets in his penultimate start prior to the Midsummer Classic. • Starting Thursday
Shuster will start Thursday's game against the Guardians, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Shuster has appeared in 17 games for the White Sox this season, posting a 3.15 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 34.1 innings, but Thursday will mark his first start of the year. The 25-year-old southpaw worked almost exclusively as a starter throughout his professional career before joining the White Sox in the offseason, so he should be able to pitch well into Thursday's game before Chicago turns to its bullpen. • Tigers recall Keider Montero to start on Wednesday
Tigers recalled RHP Keider Montero from Triple-A Toledo.

Advice: The 23-year-old right-hander will take the place of the injured Casey Mize (hamstring) in the team’s rotation. He’ll start on Wednesday night against the Twins. Montero has already made two appearances with the Tigers this season, registering a 9.35 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and an 11/4 K/BB ratio over 8 2/3 innings. He shouldn’t be considered as a streaming option on Wednesday night against the high-powered Twins’ offense. Rotoworld Today, 3:07 pm

    • Recalled ahead of start Wednesday
The Diamondbacks recalled Mena from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.

Advice: Mena was in the Diamondbacks' clubhouse Tuesday, and manager Torey Lovullo noted that the right-hander, if officially called up, would deserve the opportunity to start Wednesday, per PHNX Diamondbacks. Mena was part of the package acquired by the Diamondbacks from the White Sox in the Dominic Fletcher trade in February. Mena has spent the entire year in Reno, and over his 16 minor-league starts, the 21-year-old is 3-2 with a 4.90 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 89:38 K:BB over 82.2 innings. He will make his major-league debut Wednesday on the road against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Today, 2:50 pm
    • Diamondbacks recall Cristian Mena from Triple-A
Diamondbacks recalled RHP Cristian Mena from Triple-A Reno.

Advice: The 21-year-old right-hander will be thrown right into the fire, making his big-league debut on Wednesday night against the Dodgers. Mena registered a 4.90 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and an 89/38 K/BB ratio over 82 2/3 innings in 16 starts at Triple-A Reno. He’s certainly not a recommended streaming option for fantasy purposes. • RHP Dean Kremer activated from 10-day IL
Orioles activated RHP Dean Kremer from 10-day injured list.

Advice: Kremer is set to start Wednesday’s game against the Mariners opposite Logan Gilbert. Kremer is returning from a triceps injury. He is 3-4 with a 4.32 ERA on the season. Kremer could be a streaming option in deeper formats. Rotoworld Today, 11:43 am
