    • Strikes out 10 in loss
Gausman (6-8) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 10 over six innings to take the loss Friday versus the Mariners.

Advice: Gausman allowed a two-run double to Luke Raley in the third inning, and that was enough to stick him with his fourth loss in five outings. This was his third 10-strikeout game of the year, as well as his third quality start over his last seven games. He's at a 4.64 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 101:27 K:BB through 97 innings over 18 starts overall. Gausman's next start is projected to be on the road in San Francisco. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:19 pm

    • Albert Suárez limits Athletics to two runs in win
Albert Suárez limited the Athletics to two runs in six innings to get a win Friday.

Advice: He struck out six while allowing four hits. Two of those four hits were solo homers, but outside of the roundtrippers it was a very strong start for the 34-year-old in what has been one of the most surprising stories of 2024. Suarez now has an ERA of 2.48, and he doesn’t appear to be giving up a spot in this Baltimore rotation. His last start before the break is scheduled Thursday against the Cubs. • Captures fifth win
Suarez (5-2) earned the win Friday against Oakland, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The 34-year-old required only 86 pitches to collect his second consecutive quality start. He held the Athletics in check, as the only blemishes on his outing came via solo shots yielded to Miguel Andujar and Shea Langeliers. Suarez now sports a 2.48 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 51:23 K:BB across 65.1 innings this season. He is currently slated to make his next start against the Cubs at home. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:45 pm

    • Kevin Gausman fans 10 in loss to Blue Jays
Kevin Gausman struck out 10 over six innings of two-run baseball, but took a look Friday to the Mariners.

Advice: Gausman had the swing-and-miss stuff going and took advantage of a lineup that strikes out more than anyone in baseball. The right-hander allowed only a two-run double to Luke Raley in the contest, but unfortunately that was enough to pick up the loss with Luis Castillo holdin the Blue Jays to just one run. It’s still nice to see a strong outing from Gausman considering how mediocre he’s been for the majority of 2024, as his ERA is still a disappointing 4.64 on the campaign. • Fills stat sheet in loss
Garcia went 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and a stolen base in a 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Cardinals on Friday.

Advice: Garcia hit an RBI single in the first inning, a solo home run in the third and another single in the eighth. He later added another base hit and stole second in the 10th frame. The 24-year-old followed up a two-homer game July 3 with his second four-hit effort of the season. While he continues to sit against left-handed pitching, Garcia is hitting .271 with 10 homers, 42 RBI, 29 runs scored and 12 steals in a quietly productive 2024. • Luis García Jr. with four hits, home run
Luis García Jr. went 4-for-5 with a homer, two RBI, a run scored, a stolen base, and was caught stealing on Friday against the Cardinals.

Advice: García was a menace in this one. He had three of the Nationals’ six hardest hit balls and hit four over 99 MPH himself. He now has six hits, three homers, four runs scored, and six RBI over his last two games. A hot streak could be on the way. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:26 pm

    • Allows seven runs in loss
Severino (5-3) took the loss against the Pirates on Friday, allowing seven runs on nine hits and two walks with three strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Severino surrendered four runs on three homers between the fourth and fifth innings. He was pulled after loading the bases to open the seventh, and all three of those runners scored on a grand slam after his departure. Severino yielded nine hard-hit balls Friday and has allowed six long balls and 17 earned runs over his past four outings. On the season, the 30-year-old owns a 3.83 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 77:34 K:BB over 103.1 innings. He lines up for a home matchup with the Nationals next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:03 pm
    • Luis Severino lit up for seven runs by Pirates
Luis Severino allowed nine hits and seven earned runs in six-plus innings on Friday against the Pirates. He struck out three and walked two in a loss.

Advice: This start from Severino got bad quickly. The Pirates smacked three home runs between the fourth and fifth innings and then he loaded the bases in the sixth before being pulled. Jake Diekman promptly gave up a grand slam to Bryan Reynolds and the rout was on. Still, Severino was not great. He continues to rely heavily on his fastballs, he threw his sinker 54% of the time and four-seam fastball 18% as his two most thrown pitches, and play this pitch-to-contact game. That can work unless the ball leaves the yard like it did on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:22 pm
    • Not facing lefty
Kjerstad is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Kjerstad will take a seat Friday with southpaw Hogan Harris on the mound for Oakland. Austin Hays, Colton Cowser and Anthony Santander will fill the outfield from left to right. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:16 pm
