    • Takes home All-Star MVP honors
Duran was named the MVP of Tuesday's All-Star Game after going 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in the American League's 5-3 win over the National League.

Advice: Entering the game in the top of the fifth inning as a replacement for starting center fielder Aaron Judge, Duran broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the frame, when he took Reds right-hander Hunter Greene deep to right center. The two-run blast held up as the difference in the American League's win, allowing Duran to become the first Red Sox player since J.D. Drew in 2008 to take home MVP honors in the Midsummer Classic. Duran earned his first All-Star nod after slashing .284/.342/.477 with 10 home runs and 22 stolen bases in 439 plate appearances during the first half. Rotowire.com Today, 8:40 am

    • Jarren Duran takes home All-Star Game MVP Award
Jarren Duran clobbered a go-ahead two-run homer to power the American League to a 5-3 victory over the National League during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field.

Advice: Duran came off the bench to slingshot the American League ahead with a tape-measure 413-foot moonshot to right field off Reds ace Hunter Greene in the fifth inning, which was enough for him to earn him MVP Award honors. The 27-year-old outfielder’s metamorphosis into an upper-echelon fantasy contributor, tallying 47 extra-base hits, including 10 home runs, and 22 stolen bases through 95 games, has been a big reason why the Red Sox find themselves in the playoff race coming out of the All-Star break. • Mason Miller whiffs two in All-Star Game outing
Mason Miller recorded a pair of strikeouts in a scoreless inning during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field.

Advice: Miller’s flawless frame also included an eye-popping strikeout of Shohei Ohtani on a nasty 89 mph slider on the heels of a 101.8 mph fastball. He also delivered a sizzling 103.6 mph fastball, the fastest pitch in All-Star Game history in the Statcast era, prior to striking out Trea Turner. Fantasy managers are looking at arguably the best closer in baseball right now. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty talked earlier this week about potentially returning to the starting rotation in the future, which would be a pretty significant development for his fantasy appeal. • Earns save No. 22
Iglesias picked up the save in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Padres, tossing a clean ninth inning while striking out a batter in the process.

Advice: Iglesias was able to preserve a three-run lead for Atlanta and help the team go into the break on a positive note. He began with a strikeout against Kyle Higashioka before retiring David Peralta and Jurickson Profar on a pair of lineouts. Iglesias hasn't allowed a run in each of his last eight appearances and last blew a save back on May 3. The 34-year-old isn't striking out as many batters as he has throughout his career but is still posting superb numbers. Iglesias is now up to 22 saves and will take a 2.02 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 31:7 K:BB (35.2 innings) into the second half of the season. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:53 am

    • Clubs 19th homer
Alonso went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to the Rockies.

Advice: He got the Mets on the board in the fourth inning by crushing a German Marquez two-seamer deep to left field. Alonso snapped an 11-game homer drought with the blast, and he heads into the All-Star break -- and an appearance in the Home Run Derby -- slashing .240/.319/.454 with 19 homers and 51 RBI in 95 contests. • Homers in Sunday's win
Henderson went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Henderson's power pace has dipped in July -- he has two homers this month, though he's still hit .275 (14-for-51) over his last 12 contests. The shortstop's blast gave the Orioles a 2-1 lead in the third inning. Henderson is up to 28 homers this season, matching his total from 150 games last year in just 95 contests in 2024. He's added a .286/.373/.584 slash line, 63 RBI, 78 runs scored, 14 stolen bases, 18 doubles and five triples. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:52 pm
    • Pulled in the third
Singer was saddled with the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk over 2.2 innings against the Red Sox. He struck out three.

Advice: Singer couldn't put things together Sunday, allowing separate two-run homers in each of the first and second innings, then loading the bases in the third prior to being pulled. It was the shortest outing of the season for Singer, who entered the contest having allowed only one earned run during each of his previous four starts. He enters the All-Star break ranked 10th in the majors with a 3.20 ERA to go along with a 1.23 WHIP and 99 strikeouts over 19 starts spanning 104 innings. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:20 pm

    • Pulled after three innings
Keller didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over three innings. He struck out three.

Advice: The Pirates opted not to bring Keller out for the fourth inning, providing the 28-year-old with additional rest ahead of the All-Star Break. Keller has thrown 114.1 innings in the first half of the campaign and is on pace to shatter his career highs in starts and innings pitched, so it's possible the Pirates monitor Keller's workload during the back half of 2024. Still, Keller should be a strong fantasy option when on the mound, as he has posted a 3.46 ERA with 105 strikeouts this season while cruising to a 10-5 record. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:19 pm

    • Takes loss Sunday
Duran (5-4) allowed an unearned run on one hit without retiring a batter to take the loss Sunday versus the Giants.

Advice: Duran gave up a triple to Mike Yastrzemski to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning, and it turned into a run after Brooks Lee's relay throw ended up in the dugout. It's a tough way for Duran to take a loss, which also ended his 7.2-inning scoreless streak, but it won't hurt his ERA, which remains at 2.93 to go with a 0.98 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB through 30.2 innings. Since Duran was pitching in a tied game before giving up the run, he also will avoid taking his second blown save of the year, and his status as the Twins' primary closer is not in question.
