    • Reinstated from paternity leave
The Orioles activated Burnes (personal) from the paternity list Monday.

Advice: Burnes was away from the club for the final three games of its weekend series against the Rangers while tending to more important family matters. He's tentatively slated to make his next start Wednesday in Seattle, though that hasn't yet been confirmed. Rotowire.com Today, 10:41 am

    • Swipes 14th bag
Abrams went 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: The Nationals only had three hits on the afternoon, so while Abrams was busy on the basepaths, his efforts couldn't generate any offense. The 23-year-old shortstop had been slumping heading into June, but he wrapped up the month with a dazzling .373/.464/.663 slash line in 97 plate appearances, adding four of his 13 homers on the season and six of his 14 steals. • Three hits in win
Walker went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Walker ignited the scoring in the fourth with an RBI base knock and later extended Arizona's lead with another RBI single in the seventh. It was his seventh game in June with multiple hits and his fifth game of the year with a trio of base knocks. Walker has been a steady source of run production for the Diamondbacks this season, slashing .256/.330/.472 with 17 homers, 53 RBI, 49 runs and a 33:88 BB:K in 358 plate appearances. • Suffers loss Sunday
Stanek (5-2) took the loss Sunday against the Twins, allowing two runs on two hits over an inning's work.

Advice: Stanek entered in the eighth with the game tied at three after the Mariners were able to knot things up in the bottom of the seventh. He picked up a quick first out but then allowed a base knock followed by a two-run homer to Trevor Larnach, which ultimately decided the game. Sunday ended an 8.2 innings scoreless streak for Stanek which spanned over 10 games. He compiled three saves, two holds and two wins while owning an 11:1 K:BB. The 32-year-old has been dependable for much of the year, owning a 3.78 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB in 33.1 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 2:54 am

    • Christian Walker plates two in victory over A’s
Christian Walker went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Sunday, propelling the Diamondbacks to a 5-1 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Walker kicked off the scoring in the fourth inning with a run-scoring single against Oakland starter Luis Medina before extending Arizona’s lead a couple frames later with another run-scoring single as part of a three-hit effort. The 33-year-old veteran first baseman remains a reliable source of over-the-fence pop and counting stats as he’s up to 17 homers and 53 RBI this season leading up to the All-Star break. • Rounding into form
Cole (1-1) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on three hits, a walk and two hit batsmen over five innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out six.

Advice: Cole continues to struggle with his command as he rounds into form following a two-plus month stint on the IL with a nerve irritation in his elbow, but Sunday's performance represented a major step in the right direction. After walking four and allowing four homers in his previous start, Cole allowed a single run in the third, then struck out three of the last six batters he faced as he sent the Blue Jays down in order in the fourth and fifth innings to close out his day. The five innings pitched, 90 pitches thrown, one run allowed and six strikeouts each represented a season-best total for Cole, who continues to inch his way back toward his normal workload. He's tentatively slated to toe the rubber again next weekend in an AL East showdown when the Yankees welcome the Red Sox to the Bronx. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:22 pm
    • Burleson drives in a run in win over Reds Sunday
Alec Burleson went 1-for-3 with an RBI against the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Burleson started the scoring with an RBI single in the fifth inning to put the Cardinals on the board. He’s 12-for-30 (.400) with 13 RBI in his last nine games. Burleson is hitting .278 with a .768 OPS and 38 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:01 pm

    • Gerrit Cole wins, rights ship against Blue Jays
Gerrit Cole scattered three hits and a walk across five innings on Sunday in an 8-1 win over the Blue Jays. He allowed one run and struck out six.

Advice: This was the first time this season Cole looked like himself. His fastball velocity was much more consistent than it had been in either of his first two starts and he showed no hesitation in challenging the Blue Jays hitters with it. He also showed better command of his secondaries and the Yankees let him work all the way up to 90 pitches. While not perfect, this was the kind of start we needed to see from Cole. • CJ Abrams on base three times Sunday
CJ Abrams went 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base on Sunday against the Rays.

Advice: The Nationals offense was quiet in this one despite Abrams’ knack for getting on base. This was the second time in five games Abrams drew multiple walks and his walk total for June got up 11. That’s a welcome sight after he walked just one time the entire month of May. While still inconsistent, there is a lot of development happening for Abrams in a very short period of time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:06 pm
