    • Montas allows three in no-decision Sunday
Frankie Montas allowed three runs in five innings and got a no-decision against the Brewers on Sunday.

Advice: Montas gave up four hits, walked three and struck out five. He’s won only one of his last 11 starts and has only three quality starts in 13 starts this year. Three years removed from a season with 207 strikeouts and a 3.37 ERA, Montas is just about off the fantasy radar at this point. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to face the Red Sox at home next week.

    • Alexis Díaz allows four to reach in earning save
Alexis Díaz recorded his 15th save despite allowing two runs — one earned — in the ninth Friday versus the Brewers.

Advice: Díaz survived yet again after allowing three hits and walking a batter in a sloppy ninth inning. He’ll probably be available Saturday, but if not, the save chance could go to Lucas Sims or Fernando Cruz. Rotoworld Friday, 10:24 pm

    • Escapes with save
Diaz allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk Friday while earning a save over Milwaukee.

Advice: Diaz was tasked with protecting a 6-3 lead in the ninth inning and ran into some trouble. He walked in a run after an error loaded the bases and allowed what would've been the game-tying hit if not for Will Benson throwing out Jake Bauers at home. Diaz has converted eight straight saves and 15 of his 17 chances this season. Despite his relative success in those situations, his ERA is up to 5.47 with a lackluster 27:19 K:BB through 26.1 innings. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:14 pm

    • Fans 12 in no-decision
King came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the A's, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks over five-plus innings. He struck out 12.

Advice: The right-hander set a season high in Ks and took a 2-0 lead into the sixth inning, but after allowing back-to-back singles to begin the frame, King left the mound and watched as Wandy Peralta let both inherited runners cross the plate. King hasn't been tagged for more than three runs in any of his last five starts, posting a 2.20 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 34:8 K:BB in 28.2 innings over that stretch. He'll face a much tougher test in his next outing, on the road early next week in Philadelphia. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:26 am

    • Earns 14th save
Diaz earned a save against Cleveland on Wednesday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Advice: Entering with a 4-2 lead in the ninth inning, Diaz needed just 13 pitches to retire the Guardians in order. Since May 21, Diaz is 7-for-7 in save chances with only two runs allowed over 10 appearances. On the season, Diaz is 14-for-16 in save chances with a 5.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 27:18 K:BB in 25.1 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:06 pm

    • Alexis Díaz slams door on Guardians in ninth
Alexis Díaz slammed the door on the Guardians in the ninth inning on Saturday, retiring all three hitters that he faced in order to preserve a two-run advantage.

Advice: Díaz made things look easy in this one, getting Steven Kwan on a pop up to shortstop, Kyle Manzardo on a fly ball to right field and Jose Ramirez on a pop up to second base to end it — needing just 13 pitches (nine strikes) to get the job done. The 27-year-old hurler now holds a 5.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 27/18 K/BB ratio (25 1/3 innings) to go along with 14 saves and one victory on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:07 pm

    • Michael King strikes out 12 on Wednesday vs. A’s
Michael King struck out a season-high 12 and allowed two runs over five innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Athletics.

Advice: King turned in one of his best outings of the year, generating an eye-popping 19 swinging strikes -- including 15 combined on his changeup and sweeper combination — and finished with a near-elite 39 percent CSW. The 29-year-old righty has allowed three earned runs or fewer in seven of his last eight starts since May 4. He’ll bring a solid 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 95/34 K/BB ratio across 83 innings (15 appearances, 14 starts) into a challenging road matchup on Tuesday against the red-hot Phillies. • Plays catch
Alzolay (forearm) played catch up to 60 feet Tuesday, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Alzolay played catch for the first time since being shut down May 22, extending out to 60 feet during the session. After being shifted to the 60-day IL on June 2, Alzolay will be eligible for a return in mid-July, though he'll likely need a significant minor-league rehab stint before being activated. • Alzolay (forearm) plays catch from 60 feet
Adbert Alzolay (forearm) placed catch Monday at the Cubs’ Arizona Complex.

Advice: It’s the first time Alzolay has been able to play catch since he was shut down, and he reportedly threw from 60 feet away. The right-hander is on the 60-day injured list, and isn’t eligible to return to the Chicago bullpen until around the All-Star break. There’s no guarantee that Alzolay will be able to return in 2024, but this is a positive step forward. Rotoworld Tuesday, 12:42 pm
