    • Homers as part of three hit day
Guerrero went 3-for-5 with a solo homer, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 8-7 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: After surrendering a 7-0 lead in the fifth, Guerrero swung the momentum back in the Blue Jays direction with a monstrous solo home run to center field in the seventh to put his team back up 8-7 and the score would hold there. The home run was his first this month and his eighth three-hit performance of the year. After a blistering end to June, Guerrero has cooled off a bit in July and is slashing .229/.250/.354 with his one homer, eight RBI and seven runs scored in 50 plate appearances. He'll head into the break slashing .288/.359/.456 and leads the Blue Jays in home runs (14), RBI (55) and runs scored (47) among other batting categories. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:59 am
    • On base three times
Albies went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Padres.

Advice: Albies began his day with a double and later led off the fourth with a single before stealing second and coming around to score on a base hit from Matt Olson. Albies has notched a double in three straight games and now has four multi-hit efforts in July. The 27-year-old switch hitter heads into the break slashing .258/.312/.410 with eight homers, 44 RBI, 47 runs, eight steals and a 24:59 BB:K in 381 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:40 am

    • Strong start spoiled
Gilbert tossed seven scoreless innings Sunday against the Angels, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out nine. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Gilbert was magnificent once again and had another strong start wasted by the bullpen. Gilbert exited with a 2-0 lead that vanished in the eighth inning after two walks and a three-run homer by Jo Adell put the Angels in front for good. Sunday was the fifth time this season that Gilbert did not allow a run in a start and his nine strikeouts tied a season high. The 27-year-old will head into the break with a 2.79 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 124:25 K:BB in 132.1 innings. Since he pitched Sunday, Gilbert will not be available to throw in Tuesday's All-Star Game. • Collects rare two-inning save
Jansen tossed two innings Sunday, allowing one run on two hits and a walk to pick up the save against the Royals. He struck out three.

Advice: Jansen struck out the side in the eighth, then battled through the ninth, allowing a run but inducing a game-ending groundout with the tying run on second. While he had accomplished the feat previously in the postseason, it was the first regular-season two-inning save of Jansen's 15-year career. The 36-year-old reliever was not named to the American League All-Star roster, but he has put together another All-Star-caliber campaign with 19 saves, a 2.16 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP and 38 strikeouts over 33.1 innings. • Logan Gilbert goes seven scoreless in no-decision
Logan Gilbert shut out the Angels for seven innings, striking out nine, in a no-decision Sunday.

Advice: Gilbert allowed just two hits before leaving with a 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, it disappeared immediately in the eighth, as Ryne Stanek hurt himself on a leadoff walk and Austin Voth went on to give up a three-run homer to take a loss. It’s the fifth time this season that Gilbert has gone without allowing a run. He’s a worthy All-Star as he finishes the first half with a 2.79 ERA, but he won’t get to pitch in the game after working today. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:49 pm

    • Eyeing July 26 return
Friedl (hamstring) will head to the Reds' training facility in Arizona this week to increase his baseball activities, and manager David Bell said Sunday that the outfielder is trending toward a July 26 return from the 10-day injured list, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Friedl was placed on the IL for the third time this season June 24 after he strained his right hamstring June 17 and played through the injury for about a week. The 28-year-old seems to be progressing as expected from his latest setback on the health front, but he still has a few more hurdles to clear in the recovery process before being activated. Once he's ready to rejoin the Reds, Friedl should step back in as the club's everyday center fielder. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:04 pm

    • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. powers Jays past D’Backs
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. clobbered a go-ahead solo homer in the seventh inning on Sunday, leading the Blue Jays to an 8-7 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The two sides traded seven-run rallies in the fourth and fifth inning on Sunday, then Guerrero Jr. swung the game back in the Jays’ direction with a 438-foot (109.9 mph EV) go-ahead solo shot off of Kevin Ginkel in the seventh. He also singled and doubled in the ballgame, finishing the day 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. On the season, the 25-year-old slugger is now hitting .288/.359/.456 with 14 long balls and 55 RBI. • Kenley Jansen goes two innings for 19th save
Kenley Jansen got a two-inning save, allowing one run in the process, against the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Jansen struck out the side against the top of the order in the eighth before running into some trouble in the ninth. Still, he held on for his 19th save. The run was the first he’d allowed since June 12. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:54 pm

    • Ozzie Albies reaches base three times in victory
Ozzie Albies went 2-for-3 with a double, walk and a run scored on Sunday as the Braves triumphed over the Padres to wrap up the first half of the season.

Advice: Albies smacked a one-out double off of Randy Vasquez in the opening inning but wound up getting stranded at third base. He then led off the fourth inning with a single, swiped second base and raced around to score the Braves’ first run on an RBI single off the bat of Matt Olson. The 27-year-old second baseman finishes the first half hitting .258/.312/.410 with eight homers, 44 RBI and eight stolen bases (in nine attempts). Rotoworld Sunday, 3:50 pm
