      Mason Miller allowed a run over 1 2/3 innings while striking out one to earn the save against the Mariners on Wednesday.

      Advice: Miller was asked to preserve the A’s two-run lead in the eighth inning with two runners on and one out. He induced a fly out and a groundout to keep the Mariners scoreless.     • José Berríos delivers quality start versus Orioles
      José Berríos allowed two runs over six innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Orioles.

      Advice: Berríos delivered a sixth straight quality start, though he has only one win during the span. Tonight’s outing did nothing at all for his FIP, which has lagged way behind his ERA all year, but he continued to defy his peripherals in finishing the game with two strikeouts, three walks and a homer allowed (a solo shot to Anthony Santander).     • Yimi García winds up with victory in relief
      Yimi García was credited with a victory after pitching a scoreless top of the ninth in a tie game Wednesday versus the Orioles.

      Advice: García is the clear favorite for saves in the Toronto pen with Jordan Romano sidelined, but the Jays didn’t hold him back for the 10th or 11th tonight. He now has two wins and three saves to go along with his 1.50 ERA in 24 innings. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:18 pm
       
    • Foley earns one-out save in win over Rangers
      Jason Foley earned his 12th save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Rangers.

      Advice: Foley was brought on in relief of Tyler Horton with two outs in the ninth to secure the win for the Tigers. Foley needed just five pitches to force Wyatt Langford into a ground-out and has not allowed a run in his three appearances this month. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:11 pm
       
    • Jared Jones holds Dodgers scoreless in win
      Jared Jones threw six scoreless innings in a win over the Dodgers, striking out six and walking three.

      Advice: Jones allowed three hits on the night and just one extra-base hit, a double to Freddie Freeman. After allowing at least three runs in four straight starts, including five earned runs in his last start against the Tigers, some questions were mounting about whether Jones was tiring. Instead, he came out and shut down the Dodgers. It wasn’t an electric start with just a 21 percent CSW, but he did get 12 whiffs on 51 swings for a 24 percent whiff rate.       Jones (4-5) earned the win Tuesday over the Dodgers, allowing three hits and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: It was an impressive return to form for Jones after he gave up a season-high five runs in 4.1 innings in his last start against Detroit. It's the fifth quality start in Jones' last six outings -- his ERA now sits at 3.25 with a 1.01 WHIP 76:15 K:BB across 12 starts (69.1 innings) in his rookie campaign.       Diaz walked one batter and struck out another in a scoreless inning Sunday. He earned a save over the Cubs.

      Advice: Diaz worked around a leadoff walk to finish off the 5-2 victory. He's struggled at times throughout the year but appears to be turning a corner; Diaz has allowed one run over his last 5.2 innings while converting five straight save opportunities.       Garcia secured a save after he pitched one inning, allowing one run on two hits while striking out three batters in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Pirates.

      Advice: Garcia entered the game in the top of the ninth inning, tasked with protecting a 5-3 lead. He surrendered a leadoff double to Oneil Cruz, then struck out back-to-back batters before Rowdy Tellez notched an RBI single. Garcia then punched out Ji Hwan Bae to end the contest, securing his third save of the season. He now possesses a 1.57 ERA and 0.74 WHIP on the year while striking out 29 batters over 23 innings in 22 appearances out of the bullpen.       Brown (1-2) allowed five runs on six hits across five innings to take the loss Sunday against the Reds. He walked one and struck out six.

      Advice: Brown actually pitched decently, but he was done in by a three-run home run by TJ Friedl and a lack of run support in the 5-2 loss. The five runs allowed are the rookie's most since he gave up six in his MLB debut back on March 30. Outside of the few hiccups, Brown has been pretty solid, and he's still sitting with a strong 3.33 ERA across 51.1 innings to go along with 61 strikeouts. The righty is penciled in to start again on Saturday against this same Cincinnati squad, though the pending return of Jordan Wicks (forearm) could push Brown out of the rotation after that.
