    • Alexis Díaz blows save, gets loss vs. Diamondbacks
      Alexis Díaz blew a save while picking up a loss Monday by allowing two runs and getting just one out Monday against the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: The Díaz experience in 2024 has been interesting, to say the least, and probably is too kind of a description. The right-hander threw 9-of-21 pitches for strikes while issuing a pair of walks, and he gave up a two-run single to blow his second save and pick up his second loss.     • José Berríos completes seven frames in no-decision
      José Berríos allowed two runs over seven innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Orioles.

      Advice: Berríos struck out four and only handed out one free pass. He limited Baltimore’s exciting lineup to just three hits over seven frames with a pair of Adley Rutschman solo homers accounting for all of the damage against him in this one. It was a much-needed rebound effort for the 29-year-old righty after being torched for eight runs over 3 2/3 innings his last time out against the Phillies. He’ll bring a solid 2.82 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 42/16 K/BB ratio across 54 1/3 innings (nine starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Rays. Rotoworld Monday, 7:08 pm
       
    • Bounces back with quality start
      Berrios did not factor into the decision Monday against the Orioles, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Berrios allowed two solo homers to Adley Rutschman but otherwise only allowed one additional single through seven quality innings. It was a nice bounce-back performance for Berrios, who was lit up for eight runs in his last start against the Phillies after having allowed just seven runs total through his first seven appearances. He will carry a 2.82 ERA and 1.05 WHIP into his next start, tentatively scheduled to take place over the weekend when the Blue Jays host the Rays. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:42 pm
       
    • Working through mechanical issues
      Senga (shoulder) won't face hitters again until he works through some mechanical issues, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: The right-hander threw 32 pitches in a live bullpen session last weekend, but he apparently wasn't satisfied with how it went. Senga will take a step back in his throwing program and go back to more controlled bullpen sessions without hitters involved until he's sure he won't be developing any bad habits as he progresses in his rehab from a shoulder strain. While the caution is smart in the long run, the hiccup will almost certainly ensure that Senga won't be ready to join the Mets rotation when he's first eligible to come off the 60-day injured list in late May.       Buehler (0-1) took the loss Sunday against the Padres, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two in 3.1 innings.

      Advice: The majority of the damage against Buehler came in the opening frame when Fernando Tatis and Jake Cronenworth smoked back-to-back solo home runs. Buehler would later exit with the bases loaded and one out in the fourth and was charged with an additional run. He struggled with his command in another abbreviated start, throwing 45 of 77 pitches for strikes, and generated only five whiffs.       Jansen picked up the save Sunday against Washington, allowing one hit and no walks over a scoreless ninth inning. He didn't log a strikeout.

      Advice: Jansen got an assist from catcher Connor Wong, who ended the game by throwing out Jacob Young during an attempted steal of second base.       Walker Buehler struggled in Sunday afternoon’s loss against the Padres, giving up three runs on five hits over his 3 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: Buehler also issued a pair of walks while striking out two batters on the afternoon. The bulk of the damage done against him came in the opening inning as Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jake Cronenworth crushed back-to-back solo home runs. Buehler then exited with the bases loaded and one out in the fourth inning and was somewhat fortunate that only one of the inherited runners wound up scoring. Buehler got five swings and misses on 77 pitches on the day, posting an underwhelming CSW of only 19 percent.       Kenley Jansen threw a scoreless ninth inning in a 3-2 win over the Nationals to secure a save.

      Advice: The save was Jansen’s seventh on the season, and the veteran now has a 2.63 ERA on the year. He’s still likely to be moved by the trade deadline, but he figures to get a shot to close no matter where he goes, so he remains a rock-solid fantasy asset. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:52 pm

      Means escaped with a no-decision in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks, giving up four runs on six hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.

      Advice: The southpaw got tagged for two runs in the third and fifth innings, but the Orioles scored in the eighth to tie up the game and take Means off the hook for his first loss before eventually walking it off in the 11th. He tossed 60 of 89 pitches for strikes, and he has a 3.09 ERA and 11:0 K:BB through his first 11.2 innings on the year.
