• Clase picks up 16th save Saturday
Emmanuel Clase tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up his 16th save of the season against the Angels on Saturday.

Advice: Clase allowed one hit and struck out two batters. He lowered his ERA to 0.34 with another scoreless appearance. Clase continues to show he’s one of the league’s elite closers. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago
  • Soriano allows four runs in loss Saturday
Jose Soriano allowed four runs in six innings and took the loss against the Guardians on Saturday.

Advice: Soriano allowed four hits, a walk and struck out eight. The eight strikeouts were a season-high for him. Soriano has struck out at least six batters in six of his nine starts this season. His ERA is now 3.61 on the year. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Yankees at home next week.

  • Lawrence blows another save Saturday
Justin Lawrence allowed three runs and blew the save against the Phillies on Saturday.

Advice: The Rockies bullpen usage was interesting to say the least. Jalen Beeks, who has four saves this year, entered in the seventh inning. After pitching a scoreless 1 ⅓ innings, Beeks started the ninth inning by walking Brandon Marsh. Lawrence came in and immediately allowed a game-tying triple to Edmundo Sosa. Garrett Stubs followed with a single to put the Phillies ahead. Lawrence’s ERA is up to 5.91 now. He has two saves this year and is in the mix for future save opportunities, but this bullpen situation isn’t pretty.

  • Hudson allows two runs in no-decision Saturday
Dakota Hudson allowed two runs in six innings and got a no-decision against the Phillies on Saturday.

Advice: Hudson allowed five hits, walked one and struck out two. He left with the lead and was in line for his second win of the season, but the Rockies couldn’t hold a ninth inning lead. It’s only the third time in 10 starts that Hudson has completed six innings. His ERA is now 5.54 on the season. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Dodgers on the road next week.

  • Earns second win in relief
Sands (2-0) earned the win in Saturday's 5-3 win over Texas. He allowed no hits or walks while striking out two over two perfect innings.

Advice: It was a nice bounceback outing from Sands after he allowed five earned runs on five hits and two walks over 2.1 innings over his prior three appearances. He was used in some high-leverage spots while Jhoan Duran was out for a month with a back injury, but may be used earlier in games with Duran healthy. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago

  • Picks up win
Romero (2-0) allowed three hits and struck out one over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the win Saturday over the Cubs.

Advice: Romero became the pitcher of record after the Cardinals rallied for the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. While this was a bit of a shaky performance, Romero was able to post his ninth scoreless appearance over 11 outings in May. The southpaw is at a 1.35 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 26:4 K:BB while adding 17 holds and one blown save through 26.2 innings. He's the Cardinals' top lefty reliever and continues to feature in a setup role. • Falters but secures save
Helsley allowed two runs on four hits in one inning to earn the save in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Cubs. He did not walk or strike out a batter.

Advice: Helsley had gone 11 innings without allowing a run, and he hadn't given up multiple hits in an appearance since April 27. Luckily for the Cardinals, they gave him a three-run lead to protect, and he had just enough runway to do so despite the laborious outing. Helsley is 16-for-17 in save chances this season with a 1.96 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB over 23 innings. His lone blown save came in his season debut, and he remains one of the top closers in baseball despite playing for a mediocre team. Rotowire.com Today, 8:01 pm

  • Picks up one-out save
Megill recorded a one-out save in Saturday's 6-3 victory over the Red Sox.

Advice: The Brewers were hoping to give Megill the night off, but they were forced to turn to him with two outs in the bottom of the ninth and the tying run in the batter's box. Megill surrendered an RBI single to the first batter he faced to let one inherited runner score, but he quickly rebounded with a strikeout to end it. Having converted each of the Brewers' last eight traditional saves, Megill is the clear closer in Milwaukee. Rotowire.com Today, 7:40 pm
  • Opening Sunday's game
Suter will serve as the opening pitcher in Sunday's game versus the Dodgers, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Suter had some extended relief appearances earlier this season, but he pitched an inning Friday and hasn't lasted more than one frame in any of his last seven outings, so this will strictly be an opener situation. The presumption, while not confirmed, is that Nick Martinez will eat most of the innings as a bulk reliever. Rotowire.com Today, 7:32 pm
