    • Pops homer in win
Cowser went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 9-1 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Cowser stretched the Orioles' lead to 4-0 in the first inning with his first homer since June 28. The outfielder has a chance for more playing time in left field while Heston Kjerstad (concussion) is on the 7-day injured list. Cowser is slashing .219/.305/.427 with 13 homers, 36 RBI, 34 runs scored and five stolen bases through 295 plate appearances this year. His primary competition for playing time is Austin Hays, though Cowser does have the platoon advantage should such a situation develop. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:19 pm
    • Nabs steal Friday
Rafaela went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Rafaela is up to 12 steals on the year, though he has just two over his last 21 contests. In that span, he's batting a modest .234 (18-for-77) while adding only one walk, so it's not like he's had a lot of opportunities to run. The shortstop is at a .247/.273/.419 slash line with 11 home runs, 52 RBI, 45 runs scored, 16 doubles and four triples across 94 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:12 pm
    • Nathan Eovaldi tagged for three homers in loss
Nathan Eovaldi was lit up for six runs and three homers in five innings by the Orioles on Friday.

Advice: It’s the first time since 2022 and the seventh time in his career that Eovaldi has allowed three homers. With his velocity down by about one mph, he settled for just five whiffs and two strikeouts tonight. With any luck, his stuff will be better next time out, but even if it isn’t, at least he’ll be facing the White Sox. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:46 pm
    • Colton Cowser hits two-run homer in victory
Colton Cowser hit his 13th homer against the Rangers in Friday’s victory.

Advice: It was a two-run shot off Nathan Eovaldi. Cowser was doing more sitting than starting before Heston Kjerstad suffered a concussion, and he might return to that backup role soon. Still, he’s a perfectly legitimate starting outfielder on a team that currently has one or two too many of those. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:46 pm
    • Crushed four six runs
Eovaldi (6-4) yielded six runs on eight hits over five innings Friday, striking out two and taking a loss against the Orioles.

Advice: Eovaldi got off to a rocky start, coughing up a pair of two-run homers in the first inning. He kept Baltimore off the board for a few frames before Anthony Santander joined the party with a two-run shot in the fifth. Eovaldi had given up three homers over his previous four outings before Friday's unsightly outing. On the bright side, he has now gone four straight starts without issuing a free pass. Eovaldi will carry a 3.36 ERA into his next outing, which is line to be at home against the White Sox. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:55 pm
    • Collects four hits
Henderson went 4-for-5 with three runs scored in Friday's win over the Rangers.

Advice: Henderson smacked four singles and has just one extra-base knock over his last seven appearances. The 23-year-old turned in his first multi-hit effort since July 7 and is now 18-for-56 (.321) this month. On the year, Henderson's slash line is up .293/.378/.586 with 81 runs scored through 96 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:48 pm
    • Notches final out for 26th save
Finnegan earned the save in Friday's 8-5 win over the Reds, allowing one walk before recording the final out.

Advice: It didn't appear that Finnegan would be needed Friday, as the Nationals carried an 8-1 lead into the ninth. However, Jose Ferrer and Derek Law would combine to allow four runs in the frame, forcing the Nats to turn to Finnegan with two outs. The right-hander would issue a walk before ultimately getting Elly De La Cruz to ground out to seal an 8-5 win. The 32-year-old Finnegan has been excellent for Washington this year -- he's up to 26 saves, third-most in the league, with a 2.43 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 42:14 K:BB across 40.2 innings. • Kyle Finnegan locks down 26th save
Kyle Finnegan got one out and earned the save on Friday against the Reds.

Advice: Finnegan probably thought he had the night off as his Nationals led 8-1 entering the ninth inning. However, the Reds cut the lead to three and forced Finnegan to face Elly De La Cruz as the tying run. He got him as the Nationals breathed a collective sigh of relief. Hopefully Finnegan’s run as a closer doesn’t come to an end with the trade deadline closing in. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:49 pm

    • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. blasts two-run homer in loss
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. crushed a two-run homer on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Blue Jays to victory over the Tigers.

Advice: The 25-year-old slugger got the Jays’ on the board and pulled them to within a run after he demolished a 445-foot (117.5 mph EV) two-run shot after a nine-pitch battle with Jack Flaherty in the sixth inning. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night as his squad’s comeback effort fell one run short. On the season, Guerrero is now hitting .288/.358/.461 with 15 homers and 57 RBI.
