    • Cole allows four home runs in loss
      Gerrit Cole allowed six runs on seven hits in four innings in a loss to the Mets on Tuesday.

      Advice: There’s a fair amount to be concerned about here. The Yankees ace walked four and struck out nobody on the day. His fastball sat 95.4 mph on the day which was down 1.3 mph from his first start. He hit 98 mph in the first inning but by the third inning, he threw only four fastballs and just one was over 94 mph. Home runs hit by Mark Vientos and Harrison Bader were on fastballs that were 91.5 and 93.2 mph. Given that Cole’s elbow injury to start the year involved some nerve issues, there’s a concern that there remains a lingering impact on Cole’s health or performance. It could also just be one bad start, but this is the second outing of his career that he did not strike out any batters and the other was on May 20, 2016, so it’s certainly a performance we want to take note of.     • Mitch Keller escapes with win over Reds
      Mitch Keller allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits in 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

      Advice: Keller struck out six and walked three on the day; however, he got just eight whiffs on 48 swings for a 17 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW. Keller’s command was good in this one, which led to 22 called strikes and helped him get through without the most dynamic stuff. He’ll look for a smoother rice against the Cardinals next time out.     • Stumbles but secures save
      Helsley allowed two runs on two hits and two walks in the ninth inning Monday, striking out two and earning a save against Atlanta.

      Advice: Helsley loaded the bases with just one out but managed to escape with a save in the 4-3 win. It was the second time this month he's allowed multiple runs in an appearance, and the third time in his last 13 outings. Despite the recent shakiness, Helsley has converted 27 consecutive save chances since blowing his first opportunity of the year. He owns a 2.83 ERA and a 42:15 K:BB through 35 innings.     • Posts 16th save
      Megill earned a save against Texas on Monday, striking out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning.

      Advice: Megill hit a batter with two outs in his inning of work, but it didn't cost him any runs. The right-hander was able to notch his 10th straight successful save conversion -- he hasn't blown an opportunity since May 20. Megill has proven to be a more-than-adequate fill-in for rehabbing closer Devin Williams (back), as he's tied for eighth in MLB with 16 saves (in 17 opportunities) while posting a 1.85 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB through 24.1 innings.       Ragans (5-5) earned the win over Miami on Monday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out 11 batters over six innings.

      Advice: Ragans racked up 27 swings-and-misses -- the most by any pitcher in baseball this season -- en route to his first win since May 22. Despite the five-game stretch of starts without a victory, the southpaw has been pitching well, as he posted a 2.70 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 33:9 K:BB during the drought. Ragans' 11 punchouts Monday were his second-most this season, and he ranks third in MLB with 120 strikeouts on the campaign. He is also tied for third in the majors with 12 quality starts.     • Trevor Megill records 16th save for Brewers
      Trevor Megill was perfect in the ninth in earning his 16th save Monday against the Rangers.

    • Ragans records 11 strikeouts on way to fifth win
      Cole Ragans allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Royals’ 4-1 victory over the Marlins on Monday.

      Advice: Ragans gave up four hits, walked three and struck out 11. The win was his fifth of the season and first since May 22nd against the Tigers. Ragans is third in all of baseball with 120 strikeouts on the season trailing only Tyler Glasnow and Garrett Crochet. He lowered his ERA to 3.03 on the year. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians at home this weekend.

    • Fans seven in quality start
      Houck allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk over 6.2 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out seven during the win against the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Houck gave up just one run through six frames before the Blue Jays put two more runs on his final line during their five-run seventh inning. He's produced six quality starts in his last seven outings, giving him 13 through 16 total starts. Houck owns a terrific 2.18 ERA with a 101:18 K:BB through 103.1 frames.     • Helsley picks up 27th save against Braves Monday
      Ryan Helsley allowed two runs and picked up the save against the Braves on Monday.

      Advice: It was an eventful ninth inning in St. Louis. Helsley entered with a 4-1 lead and proceeded to load the bases on two walks and a hit. With one out, Ramon Laureano singled to make it a 4-2 game and Travis d’Arnaud hit a sacrifice fly to bring the Braves within a run. Helsley then struck out Zack Short on a slider to end the ballgame. His ERA is up to 2.83 now, but fantasy managers can’t complain with 27 saves already in the bank. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:17 pm
