    • Jazz homers, drives in four in loss to Nationals
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 1-for-3 with a home run, two walks, and four RBI in a loss to the Nationals on Sunday.

Advice: Jazz clobbered a 395-foot grand slam off Patrick Corbin in the first inning at 102.7 mph. It was especially impressive coming off of a left-handed pitcher. While he didn’t get another hit on the day, he did work two walks, which is always nice to see from a young hitter who tends to be a free swinger. Chisholm Jr. is now hitting .245/.342/.382 on the season with three home runs and 15 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:36 pm
    • Pitches through side tightness
Hicks said he experienced a bit of side tightness during his start against the Pirates on Saturday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Hicks apparently felt the tightness following the sixth inning, though he still briefly came out for the seventh before being pulled after giving up a leadoff single. The right-hander is apparently fine, but it's still worth keeping an eye on his status heading into his next turn through the rotation, which lines up for next weekend in Philadelphia. • Out of Sunday's lineup
Torkelson is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Torkelson is 1-for-17 with six strikeouts over his past four games and will hit the bench for Sunday's series finale versus Kansas City. Mark Canha will shift to first base while Wenceel Perez receives a start in the outfield. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:00 am
    • Spencer Torkelson out Sunday against Royals
Spencer Torkelson is not in the starting lineup for the Tigers on Sunday against the Royals.

Advice: Torkelson will get a day off for the series finale after going 1-for-8 with four strikeouts in the first two contests versus Kansas City. Mark Canha is hitting second and playing first base while Torkelson rests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:23 am
    • Homers in win
Benson went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Benson homered and donned the celebratory Viking helmet for the fourth time this season. He's scuffled since the middle of the month and entered Saturday's contest on a 3-for-32 (.094) stretch. Despite the struggles, Benson was recently elevated to leadoff against right-handers, but it's unclear if the experiment will continue. The lefty-hitting outfielder is 4-for-21 (.190) with a .227 on-base percentage in five games as the leadoff hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:40 am
    • Allows just one run in win
Rodon (2-1) earned the win Saturday against the Brewers after he struck out eight and allowed one run on two hits and a walk over six innings.

Advice: The left-hander delivered seven scoreless frames in his previous start and followed up with a season-high eight strikeouts in Milwaukee on Saturday, with the lone blemish against him being a solo homer from Rhys Hoskins in the opening frame. Rodon surrendered 15 long balls in 14 starts last season but has a 0.8 HR/9 through six outings in 2024. It's been an encouraging start to the campaign with a 2.48 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 30:14 K:BB across 32.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:18 am
    • Picks up third win
Blanco (3-0) earned the win Saturday over Colorado after he gave up two runs on five hits and two walks across 5.2 innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: The right-hander surrendered a two-run homer to Ryan McMahon in the opening frame but otherwise had no issues pitching at altitude in Mexico City. Blanco came up an out short of extending his streak of quality starts to five, but it was yet another strong performance. The 30-year-old has been a bright spot amid a horrible start to the season for Houston with a 1.65 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 30:14 K:BB across 32.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:04 am

    • Hits go-ahead homer in extras
Reynolds went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's win over the Giants.

Advice: Reynolds went down on strikes in his first two trips to the plate before hitting a single in the top of the eighth. He then jumped on the first pitch he saw from Tyler Rogers in the 10th and sent it into the stands in left field for a two-run shot, putting the Pirates up 3-1. It marked the ninth multi-hit effort this season for Reynolds, who's now homered in two of his last four contests. On the downside, he's also struck out twice in three of those four games. • Season-high nine strikeouts
Hicks did not factor into the decision against the Pirates on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out nine over six innings.

Advice: Hicks was in the zone Saturday, striking out the side in the first inning before going on to retire 10 of the first 12 batters he faced in the contest. He actually allowed the leadoff man to reach in four of the seven innings in which he appeared but wasn't charged with a run until the seventh, after being relieved by Luke Jackson. Hicks has now been hit with a no-decision in each of his last three starts despite holding his opponents to two or fewer runs in those outings. The right-hander also recorded a season-high nine strikeouts Saturday and did not walk a batter after issuing at least two free passes in each of his last three starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:08 am
