    • Hunter Brown tosses six scoreless to beat Halos
Hunter Brown struck out seven over six shutout innings on Saturday in a win over the Angels.

Advice: Brown followed up Houston ace Framber Valdez’s complete-game effort on Friday evening with his fourth consecutive quality start, scattering two hits and four walks over six impressive frames. Los Angeles had him on the ropes in the opening frame, but he managed to escape a bases-loaded jam by striking out Matt Thaiss on a 98.2 mph heater to extinguish the early threat. The 25-year-old righty has rebounded from an abysmal start to the year by posting a posting a 3.05 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 43/15 K/BB ratio across 38 1/3 innings (seven appearances, six starts) since May 5. He’ll square off against the Tigers on Friday in his next outing. Rotoworld Today, 3:14 am
    • Slugs homer in victory
Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk Saturday in an 11-3 win against the Yankees.

Advice: Hernandez produced just enough power to poke a solo shot to the right-field porch in the fifth inning, giving Los Angeles a 3-2 lead. The veteran utility man made his third straight start at third base, and he's notched an extra-base hit in each of those games, going 3-for-10 with two doubles and Saturday's homer along with three walks. Max Muncy (oblique) is on a slow ramp-up and figures to be out of action beyond next week, so Hernandez could be in for relatively consistent playing time in the short-term. • Works around four walks in win
Brown (2-5) allowed two hits and four walks while striking out seven over six scoreless innings to earn the win over the Angels on Saturday.

Advice: Brown logged his fourth straight quality start, and he's given up just six runs with a 26:8 K:BB over 24 innings, though this is his only win over that stretch. It continues a positive trend for Brown, who is pitching deeper into games, though his 4.3 BB/9 on the year remains alarmingly high. The right-hander also has a 5.58 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 67:29 K:BB over 61.1 innings through 13 appearances (12 starts). He's tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Tigers. • Up to 11 saves
Doval earned the save in Saturday's 3-1 win over Texas, working around a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Things got dicey for Doval in the ninth, as the Rangers got the tying runs into scoring position with two outs. However, the right-hander would coax a flyout off the bat of Leody Taveras to lock down his 11th save of the year and his second in as many days. The 26-year-old Doval lowered his ERA to 3.91 with a 1.58 WHIP and 31:18 K:BB across 25.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:33 pm
    • Swanson has three hits in loss Saturday
Dansby Swanson went 3-for-4 with a walk, two doubles and an RBI against the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Swanson brought his average up to .220 with the three-hit effort. He’s following up a down season last year, when he hit .244, with even worse production this year. His 27 percent strikeout percentage would be the highest of his career and his .147 ISO would be the lowest. Maybe Saturday is the start of a turnaround for Swanson, but there haven’t been a lot of positives for him this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:07 pm
    • Camilo Doval locks down 11th save vs. Rangers
Camilo Doval tossed a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save against the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: Doval was summoned with a two-run lead to close out the game in the ninth. He walked the leadoff man and gave up a single to bring the go-ahead run to the plate with one out. He induced a groundout and a fly out to end the game and secure the win for the Giants, picking up his 11th save. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:49 pm
    • Taking dry swings
Muncy (oblique) has begun taking dry swings and doing plyo-ball workouts, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: This is a step forward for Muncy, as he had previously been unable to swing a bat at all after continuing to experience soreness in his oblique. However, manager Dave Roberts said last week that the third baseman is on a "slow program," so Muncy doesn't appear to be particularly close to a return. He hasn't played in a game since May 15 and will likely need to go on a rehab assignment before rejoining the big-league club. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:58 am

    • Sitting Saturday
Jeffers is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Jeffers has gone 0-for-16 with six strikeouts over his last five games, and he is down to .234/.323/.500 over 218 plate appearances this season. Christian Vazquez will start behind home plate Saturday and bat ninth against Pirates right-hander Carmen Mlodzinski. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:12 am
    • Pops sixth homer
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Reds.

Advice: The shortstop took Nick Lodolo deep in the sixth inning, but the Cubs were already in a 3-0 hole at that point. Swanson is beginning to show faint signs of life at the plate -- while he's batting just .233 (7-for-30) over the last eight games, four of those hits have gone for extra bases, including two of his six homers on the year. His 1:10 BB:K over that stretch remains an eyesore, however, and his .628 OPS and 28.5 percent strikeout rate on the season would both be career worsts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:21 am
