    • Joey Meneses has three hits in loss to Braves
Joey Meneses went 3-for-3 in a loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Advice: All three of Meneses’ hits were singles, but the 32-year-old is now 10-for-32 (.313) over his last eight games with a home run and three RBI. However, he was also on the bench on Monday against a right-handed pitcher with Lane Thomas back off the injured list, so it’s possible Menses is entering into a weak-side platoon situation that would destroy his fantasy value. Keep an eye on the next few Nationals’ lineups just to make sure. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

    • Gavin Stone twirls seven-inning masterpiece vs. Mets
Gavin Stone recorded seven strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Mets.

Advice: Stone drew the starting assignment for the nightcap of Tuesday’s twin bill at Citi Field and authored one of his best outings of the year. He scattered three hits, didn’t hand out a free pass, and established a new season-high mark with seven strikeouts. The 25-year-old righty has allowed three earned runs or fewer in eight of his 10 starts this season and will bring a respectable 3.16 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 41/17 K/BB ratio across 57 innings (10 starts) into a road matchup next Wednesday against the Pirates. • José Quintana allows two homers in loss to Dodgers
José Quintana allowed three runs over six innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Quintana took the ball for the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader at Citi Field and was tagged for eight hits, including homers by Will Smith and Miguel Vargas in the first and sixth inning, respectively. He notched three strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. It wasn’t his worst outing of the season, but the veteran lefty got absolutely zero support from New York’s lineup in this one. He’ll bring an inflated 5.06 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 39/18 K/BB ratio across 58 2/3 innings (11 starts) into a road matchup on Monday against the Nationals. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

    • Max Fried stymies Nats bats in win
Max Fried threw eight shutout innings, allowing seven hits and striking out six in a win over the Nationals.

Advice: Fried has now allowed just one earned run over 17 innings in his last two starts. However, while he carved up the Cubs in his last time out, Fried managed without his best stuff on Tuesday. He had just nine whiffs on 45 swings for a 20 percent whiff rate and 24 percent CSW on the day; however, the Nationals were only able to muster one extra-base hit and couldn’t capitalize on their seven hits. Aces are able to produce even when they’re not executing as well as they can, and that’s exactly what Fried did tonight. He’ll now take a 2.97 ERA into a start against the A’s on Sunday. • Jake Irvin gets tough luck no decision on Tuesday
Jake Irvin threw six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out 10 in a no-decision against the Braves.

Advice: Irvin kept the Braves guessing all night, allowing an average exit velocity against of just 80 mph while posting a 28 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW. His curve was particularly effective on Tuesday, and the right-hander now has a 3.43 ERA on the year. He does have just 54 strikeouts in 63 innings, so he doesn’t have the strikeout upside that tonight’s game would indicate, but he’s been solid all season long and could be a decent streaming option against the Guardians this weekend. • Mason Miller shuts door on Rays for 11th save
Mason Miller earned a save by preserving a 3-0 win over the Rays on Tuesday.

Advice: Miller, who hadn’t pitched in two days, didn’t make it easy on himself. After getting the first two batters out, he allowed a single to Yandy Diaz and walked Brandon Lowe to bring the tying run to the plate before striking out Isaac Paredes to end the game. It was his 11th save of the year to go along with a 1.88 ERA. He has emerged as one of the most dominant relievers in baseball and with the A’s proving to be more competitive than many expected, Miller should easily eclipse the 20-save mark this year if he can stay healthy. • Miguel Andujar homers in win over Rays
Miguel Andujar went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in a win over the Rays on Tuesday.

Advice: Andujar took a sixth-inning offering from Zack Littell and hit it out of the park for a three-run shot at 106 mph off the bat. It was his first home run of the 2024 season, but the 29-year-old has been regularly hitting in the middle of the order for Oakland since coming off the IL and has gone 4-for-12 with five RBIs in three games. He’s a career .271 hitter who hasn’t quite delivered on his early-career promise, but perhaps he can get on the deep-league fantasy radar now that he seems to have a full-time job. • Zack Littell takes tough luck loss to A’s
Zack Littell allowed three runs (none earned) on five hits in seven innings in a loss to the Athletics on Tuesday.

Advice: Littell also struck out nine and walked just one. A Brandon Lowe fielding error got the sixth inning started, and after a walk, Littell was able to get two outs before giving up a three-run shot to Miguel Andujar. That was the difference in the game. The 28-year-old had a dominant performance from his splitter on Tuesday and rode it to a 31 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW overall. He’ll now take a 3.03 ERA into a showdown this weekend with the Orioles where he’ll be a risky option in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago
