    • Kyle Tucker (shin) absent from Tuesday’s lineup
Kyle Tucker (shin) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cardinals.

Advice: The encouraging development here for fantasy managers is that X-rays came back negative for any fractures and Tucker hasn’t been placed on the injured list yet following an early exit from Monday’s series opener after fouling a ball off his right shin. It’ll be Mauricio Dubón taking over in right field on Tuesday evening in his absence. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:29 pm

    • Jacob Young back in lineup Tuesday against Mets
Jacob Young (hand) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Mets.

Advice: Young sat out Monday’s series opener due to right hand inflammation stemming from a hit by pitch over the weekend. The 24-year-old speedster is ready to go for Tuesday’s showdown at Nationals Park. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:06 pm

    • Out Tuesday, still DTD
Tucker (lower leg) isn't part of the Astros' starting lineup Tuesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Tucker will get the day off after fouling a ball off his right shin Monday night. While X-rays came back negative and manager Joe Espada said Tucker is "feeling better," the outfielder will continue to have his leg examined to ensure that he's merely dealing with a bruise. The Astros could also opt to sit Tucker on Wednesday, considering Thursday is a team off day. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:48 pm

    • Returns to Washington lineup
Young (hand) will start in center field and bat ninth in Tuesday's game versus the Mets.

Advice: Young missed two starts with swelling in his right hand but is feeling well enough to give it a go Tuesday against left-hander David Peterson and the Mets. The speedy Young is tied for fourth in baseball this season with 17 stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:33 pm

    • Lifts homer Monday
Santander went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 7-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Santander has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games, going 12-for-41 (.293) with four homers and eight RBI in that span. He continues to dig himself out of a rough start to 2024, though he's still at a .223/.301/.450 slash line over 54 contests. Santander has added 11 homers, 33 RBI, 31 runs scored, 11 doubles and a triple while seeing steady playing time in right field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:54 am
    • Abbott strikes out six in gets fourth win Monday
Andrew Abbott allowed three runs in six innings and picked up the win in the Reds’ 13-3 victory over the Rockies on Monday.

Advice: The win was Abbott’s fourth of the season. He gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out six. Abbott now has a quality start in three of his last four starts and a win in three of his last five starts. His ERA is now 3.39 on the season, but his xFIP is significantly higher at 4.53. Abbott has a pedestrian 18 percent strikeout percentage and has benefited from an 84 percent left on base percentage that’s likely to catch up to him at some point. The 25-year-old left-hander is set to face the Cubs at home this weekend. Rotoworld Monday, 8:40 pm
    • Avoids significant injury
Tucker has been diagnosed with a bruised right shin and X-rays on the area came back negative, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Advice: Tucker appeared to be in serious pain after fouling a ball off his shin during Monday's game against the Cardinals, but he seems to have escaped a significant injury. He'll be considered day-to-day and will likely be re-evaluated again Tuesday morning to determine his availability for the rest of the week. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:26 pm

    • Kyle Tucker day-to-day with shin contusion
Kyle Tucker is day-to-day after being diagnosed with a right shin contusion.

Advice: X-rays were negative after Tucker fouled a pitch off his leg tonight. If he can’t go Tuesday, it increases the chances that Chas McCormick will get a start. Rotoworld Monday, 8:26 pm

    • Delivers quality start
Abbott (4-5) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings Monday, striking out six and earning a win over Colorado.

Advice: Abbott was charged with three runs through three frames but settled in to produce his fifth quality start of the year. Three of those quality starts have come over his last four appearances, and he matched his season best by generating 13 whiffs Monday. He had struck out just 11 batters over his previous four outings but improved his season K:BB to 52:18 with Monday's strong performance. Abbott owns a 3.39 ERA on the year and a 3.50 ERA in six starts since the beginning of May. His next start in lined up to be at home against the Cubs. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:24 pm
