    • Pops sixth homer
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Reds.

Advice: The shortstop took Nick Lodolo deep in the sixth inning, but the Cubs were already in a 3-0 hole at that point. Swanson is beginning to show faint signs of life at the plate -- while he's batting just .233 (7-for-30) over the last eight games, four of those hits have gone for extra bases, including two of his six homers on the year. His 1:10 BB:K over that stretch remains an eyesore, however, and his .628 OPS and 28.5 percent strikeout rate on the season would both be career worsts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:21 am
    • Dips below .200
Suarez went 0-for-4 in Friday's 10-3 loss to San Diego and is batting .198 through 63 games.

Advice: Suarez's season-opening slump continued into the month of June; he's 2-for-23 (.087) over seven games this month and dipped below .200 for the first time. He remains fourth on the team with 28 RBI, production that helped mask his slump over the first month and a half, but Suarez has delivered just five runs over the last 22 contests, and his .582 OPS has gotten harder to ignore. • Jurickson Profar homers, Padres demolish D-backs
Jurickson Profar slugged a solo homer and also added a three-run double on Friday, lifting the Padres to a 10-3 blowout victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Profar has been an unexpected revelation this season in his return to San Diego, and even looks like he has a shot at making his first All-Star Game appearance. The 31-year-old journeyman clubbed a solo shot -- his ninth round-tripper of the season -- off Diamondbacks starter Brandon Pfaadt in the opening frame before tacking on a bases-clearing three-run double in the eighth inning to ostensibly blow the game wide open. He won’t sustain this near-elite level of performance for the entire season, but fantasy managers should continue to ride the wave until it comes craching into shore. He’s been one of the most impactful waiver wire pickups of the year so far. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:36 am

    • Brandon Pfaadt wears it on Friday vs. Padres
Brandon Pfaadt was lit up for five runs over 5 1/3 innings on Friday in a loss to the Padres.

Advice: Pfaadt, who allowed nine hits (including three home runs) and teammate Humberto Castellanos were each tagged for five runs as they soaked up nearly a complete game to spare Arizona’s overworked bullpen, which frankly needed a break after some heavy usage earlier this week. He struck out five and only handed out one free pass. He’ll bring an inflated 4.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 76/15 K/BB ratio across 78 1/3 innings (13 starts) into tasty matchup on Thursday against the Angels at Chase Field. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:18 am
    • Cracks sixth homer
Melendez went 1-for-3 with a homer, a walk and four RBI in Friday's win against the Mariners.

Advice: Melendez blasted a 406-foot, three-run homer off Bryce Miller in the fourth inning before adding another RBI via a groundout in the sixth. This marks the 25-year-old's second four-RBI game of the season, with the first coming April 19. Melendez will try to build upon this performance, as he entered the contest hitting a ghastly .111 (5-for-45) with 13 strikeouts over his last 15 games. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:47 pm

    • Hit hard Friday
Pfaadt (2-5) allowed five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.1 innings to take the loss versus the Padres on Friday.

Advice: Even in pitcher-friendly Petco Park, Pfaadt was tagged for a season-high three home runs. He gave up back-to-back solo shots to Fernando Tatis and Jurickson Profar in the first inning and also yielded a two-run blast to Ha-Seong Kim in the sixth. This was the third start in a row in which Pfaadt has given up four or more runs. He's now at a 4.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 76:15 K:BB through 78.1 innings across 13 starts. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Angels. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:46 pm
    • Drives in four in win
Profar went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a three-run double in Friday's 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Profar went back-to-back with Fernando Tatis in the first inning and then added his two-bagger in the eighth as part of a five-run inning. Through seven games in June, Profar has gone 7-for-25 (.280) with three extra-base hits and a 3:6 BB:K. The outfielder has only slightly cooled off after his impressive first two months -- he's now at a .325/.418/.496 slash line with nine homers, 42 RBI, 35 runs scored and four stolen bases over 67 contests. • Camilo Doval perfect in earning save
Camilo Doval was perfect in the ninth for a save in a 5-2 game against the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Doval was pitching for the first time since giving up four runs in a blown save and a loss to the Yankees on Sunday. He definitely hasn’t been as effective as he was last year, in large part because he’s walked 17 in 24 1/3 innings, but he is 10-for-12 in save chances. Rotoworld Friday, 9:38 pm
    • MJ Melendez homers, drives in four in comeback win
MJ Melendez hit a two-run homer and drove home four runs in a victory over the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: Melendez got the Royals back into the game with a three-run blast off Bryce Miller to turn an 8-1 deficit into an 8-4 game. He drove in another run in the sixth on a fielder’s choice. Melendez has been a major disappointment with a slash of .167/.233/.339, but the 25-year-old is far from bereft of offensive talent. Expect better things over the final 90-plus contests.
