• Oneil Cruz sets Statcast record on 3 hits in win
Oneil Cruz went 3-for-5 with one RBI in a win over the Giants on Tuesday.

Advice: All three of Cruz’s hits were blasted with a 121.5 mph double, a 120.4 mph single, and a 116.3 mph double. He’s now the first player in the Statcast era to have three hits in one game over 115 mph, and his 121.5 mph double is the hardest-hit ball in MLB action this year, topping the 120.4 mph single he hit earlier in the game today. That’s quite a performance. Cruz is 19-for-64 (.297) in May with four home runs, 10 runs scored, and 11 RBI. He does have 18 strikeouts in 16 games, but his production has certainly started to tick up and if stolen bases follow, we could see a full breakout. Rotoworld 47 minutes ago

  • Luke Raley homers in win over Yankees
Luke Raley went 1-for-5 with a home run in Tuesday’s win over the Yankees.

Advice: Raley is now hitting .306 on the season and has four home runs and 12 RBI to his name in 38 games. The lefty is riding a hot hand at the moment and is currently sitting on an eight-game hitting streak. Raley has absolutely raked this month, going 21-for-53 (.396) with seven extra-base hits. He’ll cool off eventually, but he’s worth a start as long as the hot hitting continues. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago

  • Gets shelled Tuesday
Mize (1-3) allowed six runs on nine hits across 1.2 innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Royals. He had no walks and struck out two.

Advice: Not walking anyone was nice, though that's about where the positives ended for Mize, who allowed a new season high in earned runs while also recording his shortest outing of the year. His previous high was five runs allowed back on May 4, but he had allowed just three total runs across 12 innings in two starts since then. Overall, the righty now has a 4.57 ERA over 45.1 innings this season, which is only slightly above his career 4.35 mark. Mize will look for a better result in his next scheduled appearance, which is currently penciled in for Sunday against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com 50 minutes ago

  • Matt Chapman has two hits, HR in loss
Matt Chapman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Chapman had three of the four hardest-hit balls on the Giants during the game. He had a 113.1 mph groundout, a 106.4 mph double, and a 104.8 mph home run that traveled 414 feet. He also added another 103.2 mph groundout, so it’s safe to say he was seeing the ball pretty well on Tuesday. The veteran is now 19-for-68 (.279) with two home runs, 15 runs scored, and eight RBI during May. He continues to hit cleanup for the Giants every game and is an underrated fantasy option. • Torres’ three-run homer not enough in Yanks loss
Gleyber Torres went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Torres’ three-run homer in the seventh gave the Yankees their first runs of the evening after they spent the first six innings being stifled by Bryan Woo. Torres’ homer, his third on the season, ended shutout but didn’t prove to be enough for the Yankees, who were held scoreless the rest of the way. Torres is slashing a mere .223/.301/.310 on the season and is hitting .227 in the month of May. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago

  • Locks down ninth save
Alvarado earned the save in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: The Rangers got the tying run to the plate with one out in the ninth after an error and a Leody Taveras base hit. However, Alvarado would proceed to strike out Marcus Semien and Corey Seager, picking up his ninth save in a 5-2 win. While the Phillies have utilized a modified committee approach to the ninth inning, the left-handed Alvarado has established himself as their preferred closing option. His ERA sits at 3.54 with a 1.03 WHIP and 20:7 K:BB across 20.1 innings. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago
  • Martín Pérez struggles with command vs SF
Martín Pérez allowed four runs (two runs) on five hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Giants.

Advice: Pérez struck out four but walked three on the day. He started just 10 of the 22 batters he faced with a first-pitch strike and had a zone rate of 36 percent overall which is not good. It led to a 19 percent CSW on the day, and he’s lucky the final line wasn’t much worse. He’ll take a 4.80 ERA into a weekend showdown against the Braves and should not be started in fantasy leagues. • Schmidt allows two earned in loss to Mariners
Clarke Schmidt allowed two earned runs and four hits over five innings in the Yankees’ loss to the Mariners.

Advice: The two earned runs Schmidt allowed came on a two-run homer by Dylan Moore on a pitch that was off the outside black of the plate. It was a well-thrown pitch that resulted in an unfortunate outcome for Schmidt, who was otherwise solid on the evening. He walked just two batters while striking out six and has now struck out six or more batters in seven of his 10 starts. Schmidt is scheduled to make his next start on Sunday against the Padres. • Dylan Moore homers twice as Mariners down Yankees
Dylan Moore went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Yankees.

Advice: Moore pulled a pitch on the outside black of the plate 402 feet to left field for a two-run homer to give the Mariners a lead in the top of the third. He would later single in the seventh inning to drive in Mitch Garver and homered again in the ninth, accounting for four of the Mariners’ six runs driven in on the afternoon. Moore hasn’t hit for much of an average but has provided solid power and run support at the bottom of the Mariners’ lineup. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago
