• Picks up second save
Lopez gave up one run on one hit in the ninth inning Tuesday to record his second save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Edwin Diaz had pitched each of the last two days, and after Adam Ottavino worked the eighth inning, Lopez got the call in the ninth to protect a three-run lead. The 31-year-old righty also has three holds in his 14 appearances as he begins to see more consistent high-leverage usage, and he's earned the trust of manager Carlos Mendoza with a 1.88 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB through 14.1 innings. • Woods Richardson allows two runs in short outing
Simeon Woods Richardson pitched 3 2/3 innings while allowing seven hits and two runs in the Twins’ win over the White Sox.

Advice: Woods Richardson struggled to keep runners off base in this one. In addition to allowing seven hits, he also walked two batters and was pulled after 81 pitches. He was fortunate to allow only two runs after he allowed two of his first three batters faced to reach base in the second and third innings, but RBI singles by Eloy Jimenez and Tommy Pham led to little damage. Tuesday marked Woods Richardson’s shortest outing of the season after he had previously pitched out of the fifth and sixth innings in his first two starts. His next start is slated for Monday against the Mariners. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago
  • Takes loss Tuesday
Alzolay (1-3) allowed three unearned runs on two hits across an inning of work to take the loss Tuesday against the Mets.

Advice: Alzolay should have had a 1-2-3 sixth inning, but a Dansby Swanson throwing error gave the Mets life, and they took advantage. A single and a three-run home run by DJ Stewart quickly broke open a 1-1 tie, and New York hung on for the 4-2 win, which saddled Alzolay with his third loss of the season. While it wasn't all his fault Tuesday, it's been a struggle overall for the righty, as he blew four saves in the early going to get yanked from the closer's role. Hector Neris stepped in to replace Alzolay, and it doesn't look like things are going to change anytime soon. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago
  • Logan Webb knocked out early by Red Sox
Logan Webb allowed four runs on nine hits in 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: Webb allowed just two extra-base hits, but the Red Sox tagged him early and often on Tuesday as Webb allowed an average exit velocity on balls in play of 99.5 mph. However, it just seems like a bad outing. He struggled to find the command of his changeup, which led to just a 13 percent whiff rate and the Red Sox hitters were able to tee off when he did land his pitches in the strike zone. We wouldn’t read too much into it and would still start Webb even in a tough matchup against the Phillies this weekend. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

  • Shaky control again Tuesday
Manaea came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Cubs, giving up one run on three hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out three.

Advice: For the fourth straight start, Manaea issued at least three free passes, but the veteran lefty was able to limit the damage before exiting with the score tied 1-1. He tossed 54 of 92 pitches for strikes, and while his 3.07 ERA on the season looks sharp, it comes with a 1.43 WHIP and 30:18 K:BB through 29.1 innings. Manaea will try to tighten things up in his next outing, which lines up to come this weekend in Tampa Bay. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

  • Willy Adames homers, drives in four vs. Rays
Willy Adames went 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Rays.

Advice: Adames put the Brewers on the board with a sacrifice fly in the first inning but sent a three-run blast into the stands in the fifth inning to give the Brewers a comfortable 6-1 advantage. It was a strong way for Adames to close out a month in which he slashed .270/.369/.441 while belting four homers and driving in 17 runs. He’s also scored 16 runs. He’s hitting for a solid average and providing plenty of runs scored and runs driven in, making for a solid player across multiple categories heading into May. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago

  • Criswell stymies Giants in win on Tuesday
Cooper Criswell threw five shutout innings in a win over the Giants on Tuesday, allowing two runs while striking out four and walking one.

Advice: It certainly wasn’t an electric start for the right-hander who had just a 15 percent whiff rate, but he posted a 29 percent CSW and got consistent called strikes with his sinker, and his sweeper missed just enough bats for him to be effective. Criswell now has a 1.65 ERA in four appearances and three starts with the Red Sox this season and figures to remain in the rotation for a couple more turns at least. He’s nothing more than a deep league streaming option given his lack of strikeout upside, but he could be startable this weekend against the Twins. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

  • Nabs second steal
Morel went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Mets.

Advice: The steal was his second of the season, and both pilfers have come in his last eight contests. Morel is struggling to get going with his bat however, and through 29 games he's slashing a meager .215/.292/.374 with four homers, 14 RBI and 17 runs. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago

  • Turang drives in three as Brewers down Rays
Brice Turang went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI, and a run scored in Tuesday’s win over the Rays.

Advice: Turang singled in the second inning to bring home Jackson Chourio, giving the Brewers an early 2-0 lead, but that was just the start of a strong night for the young second baseman. Turang would later double in the seventh inning, driving in two more runs to put the Brewers up 8-2. Turang has upped his RBI total to 12 on the season and his hitting a solid .312 through the first month of the season.
