    • IL decision likely imminent
Polanco (hamstring), who was out of the lineup for a fifth straight game Sunday, did some explosive running drills before Sunday's series finale against the Orioles but could still be placed on the injured list in coming days, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Despite Polanco upping his activity level Sunday, manager Scott Servais confirmed the veteran infielder is still not moving around at full speed. As such, the Mariners could make a decision on whether to place Polanco on the IL as early as Monday when the team opens a four-game series against the Yankees. Servais conceded Sunday that Polanco was feeling better and has progressed to swinging a bat without discomfort, but given the lingering nature of hamstring injuries, an IL stint might still be necessary to ensure a full recovery. • Knocks two extra-base hits
Witt went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over Oakland.

Advice: Witt drove in a run with a first-inning double before coming around to score. He later tripled before chipping in an RBI sacrifice fly. He entered Sunday in a 3-for-24 (.125) skid over his previous six games but snapped that with his 18th multi-hit performance of the year. Witt is now slashing .296/.356/.511 with 24 extra-base hits and 42 runs scored through 48 games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:44 pm

    • Could rejoin team Friday
Astros GM Dana Brown said Sunday that Abreu could join the team Friday in Oakland, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 37-year-old has gone 2-for-9 with a double and a walk in two games with the FCL Astros in the Gulf Coast League, and he's expected to play in a couple more games -- potentially with Triple-A Sugar Land -- this week before rejoining the Astros. Jon Singleton has been operating as Houston's primary first baseman over the past few weeks, and it's unclear if Abreu will immediately reclaim the job once he's called back up. • José Abreu could rejoin Astros over weekend
Astros general manager Dana Brown told reporters that José Abreu could return to the Astros as soon as Friday.

Advice: The Astros optioned Abreau to extended spring training at the end of April with the infielder hitting just .099 with one extra-base hit over 22 games with Houston. He likely would split time with Jon Singleton at the first base position, but while Abreu has had success at the highest level — success is an understatement, obviously — it’d be a mistake to believe Abreu can be a fantasy contributor based on what he’s showed over the last couple of years. • Absence continues Sunday
Polanco (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Baltimore.

Advice: Polanco is out of the starting nine for the fifth straight game as he continues to manage soreness in his right hamstring. Josh Rojas is picking up another start at the keystone while Luis Urias mans the hot corner. Rotowire.com Today, 9:19 am

    • Jorge Polanco (hamstring) out again Sunday vs. O’s
Jorge Polanco (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Orioles.

Advice: The Mariners continue to hold out hope that Polanco won’t need a trip to the injured list, but the 30-year-old still isn’t ready to return to the starting lineup. Josh Rojas will start at second base with Luis Urias the starting third baseman. Rotoworld Today, 8:57 am

    • Gets break Sunday
Diaz is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against Milwaukee.

Advice: The 25-year-old will cede catching duties to Victor Caratini as the Astros finish out their series against the Brewers. Diaz has started four of the last five games for Houston, going 3-for-18 with three RBI in that stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 8:31 am

    • J.T. Realmuto on bench to begin Sunday vs. Nats
J.T. Realmuto is not in the lineup to begin Sunday’s game against the Nationals.

Advice: Realmuto will take a seat Sunday for the finale against the Nationals. Garrett Stubbs will handle catching duties in Realmuto’s absence and hit eighth. Rotoworld Today, 7:55 am

    • Out of lineup Sunday
Cabrera is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Advice: The third-year major leaguer will begin the game from the dugout in the second straight game as the Yankees close out their series with Chicago. Jon Berti will get the start at third base and bat ninth in place of Cabrera. Rotowire.com Today, 7:39 am
