    • Two hits, steal in loss
Mateo went 2-for-3 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Mateo has hit .263 (10-for-38) over 13 games in May, but this was his first multi-hit effort of the season. He's made up for the lack of explosiveness with modest consistency, slashing .260/.301/.468 over 85 plate appearances this season. Mateo has added two home runs, six steals, five RBI, 14 runs scored, eight doubles and a triple. He continues to see most of the playing time at second base, with Jordan Westburg at third and Ramon Urias in a utility role. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:22 pm

    • Jorge Mateo swipes base in loss to Mariners
Jorge Mateo went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base as the Orioles fell to the Mariners on a rainy Saturday evening in Baltimore.

Advice: Mateo led off the third inning with a double off of Mariners’ right-hander Luis Castillo, then raced around to score on a single off the bat of Ryan O’Hearn. He also singled in the second inning and swiped second base, but the Orioles were unable to cash him in. With his two-hit attack, Mateo is now hitting .260/.301/.468 on the season to go along with a pair of homers, five RBI and six stolen bases in 85 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:50 pm

    • Keeps raking with homer
Volpe went 2-for-5 with a solo home run during Thursday's 5-0 win over the Twins.

Advice: Volpe extended his hit streak to nine games with a first-inning solo home run off Joe Ryan. During that stretch, Volpe has gone yard three times with 10 total RBI while logging multiple hits in four contests. After an up-and-down rookie campaign, Volpe owns a .273/.348/.432 slash line with six homers and nine stolen bases through 199 plate appearances in 2024. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:01 pm

    • Anthony Volpe homers, steals base in victory
Anthony Volpe went 2-for-5 with a leadoff homer and also stole a base on Thursday, leading the Yankees to a 5-0 victory over the Twins.

Advice: Volpe kicked off the contest with a leadoff homer against Twins starter Joe Ryan for his sixth round-tripper of the year. He also picked up his ninth stolen base of the season a couple frames later. The 23-year-old’s power output was a bit diminished at the outset of the year following offseason changes to flatten his swing and implement an all-fields approach, but he’s started to drive the ball a bit more of late with three homers in his last nine contests. • Mateo gets another start for Orioles at 2B
Jorge Mateo is starting at second base for the Orioles for the fourth time in five games, hitting ninth.

Advice: Mateo is getting his chance to claim a starting job in the infield and hold off the much-anticipated promotion of Coby Mayo. While he is playing regularly, Mateo is hitting .240/.259/.480 in seven games in May with two home runs, six runs, four RBI, and one steal. He has just a 21 percent strike-out rate, but he also has not walked. It’s not a profile that is giving you a lot outside of deeper formats. Rotoworld Monday, 12:40 pm

    • Not starting Sunday
Mateo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Mateo will hit the bench after he had started at second base in each of the last three games while going 3-for-11 with an RBI and three runs scored. Jordan Westburg will shift over from third base to cover the keystone in place of Mateo. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:52 am

    • Collects three hits Saturday
Volpe went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in a loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Advice: Volpe was the only Yankee to stand out offensively in the loss -- he was responsible for three of the team's five hits, plated both of the club's runs on a second-inning single and added a stolen base to boot. The young shortstop has reached base safely via hit or walk in nine straight contests, slashing .286/.375/.486 with two homers, seven RBI, seven runs and a 5:11 BB:K over that span. After swiping 24 bags as a rookie last year, Volpe is on pace to exceed that mark with eight steals in nine attempts so far in 2024. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:42 am

    • Anthony Volpe plates two runs in loss to Rays
Anthony Volpe went 3-for-4 and drove in both of the Yankees’ runs in Saturday’s loss to the Rays.

Advice: Volpe smacked a two-run single off of Zack Littell in the second inning that gave the Yankees a 2-1 advantage. That would wind up being the extent of their offensive output though. He also singled with two outs in the fifth inning and swiped second base, but the Yankees couldn’t cash him in. Volpe got his third knock off of Jason Adam in the seventh. With his three-hit attack, the 23-year-old shortstop is now hitting .268/.354/.408 with five homers, 20 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:27 pm
