    • Fans seven in no-decision
Pepiot allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Oakland on Wednesday.

Advice: Pepiot appeared on his way to a quality start after giving up one run through five frames, but he was pulled with two outs in the sixth after allowing two batters to reach base, and one came around to score after his departure. Still, this was a positive step forward in the right-hander's second game back following a stint on the injured list. Pepiot gave up three runs over just four frames while walking four batters in his return from the IL last Wednesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:49 pm

    • Justin Verlander strikes out nine in no-decision
Justin Verlander allowed one run with nine strikeouts over seven innings in a no-decision against the Mariners on Wednesday.

Advice: Verlander scattered three hits and one walk, striking out nine batters for the second consecutive start. The only run the Mariners would score on him came on a solo homer by Dominic Canzone in the fifth inning. The 41-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.26 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and a 44/15 K/BB ratio across 47 innings. He’ll take on the Cardinals in Houston on Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:24 pm
    • Ryan Pepiot strikes out seven across 5 ⅔ innings
Ryan Pepiot allowed two earned runs on three hits across 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday against the Athletics. He walked one and struck out seven in a no-decision.

Advice: Pepiot got back on track Wednesday. He mixed his pitches well - throwing his slider, fastball and changeup each at least 28% of the time - while throwing a first pitch strike to 17 of 21 Athletics’ hitters. This was a welcome sight after he missed more than two weeks on the IL and looked shaky in his return against the Red Sox. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:56 pm

    • Francisco Lindor reaches twice in loss to Dodgers
Francisco Lindor went 1-for-4 with a run scored on Wednesday in the Mets’ loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Lindor showed zero ill effects, reaching base safely in two of his four plate appearances less than 24 hours after suffering a left index finger contusion during Tuesday’s doubleheader. It doesn’t appear that he’s going to wind up missing any time moving forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:29 pm
    • Tagged for 12 hits in loss
Harrison (4-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing four runs on 12 hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Harrison's final line ultimately could've looked a lot worse, as he surrendered a career-most 12 hits. The 22-year-old southpaw's hit a rough patch of late, giving up three or more runs over five innings in each of his last four starts. Harrison's ERA is up to 4.15 through 12 starts (65 innings) this year with a 1.40 WHIP and 60:22 K:BB. He'll look to get on track in his next outing, currently lined up for early next week in Arizona. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:21 pm
    • Homers again Wednesday
Gorman went 2-for-5 with a solo homer, an RBI double and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Gorman extended the Cardinals' lead to 2-0 with an RBI double in the fourth inning before launching a home run off left-hander Brent Suter in the eighth, his 10th long ball of the year and second in as many games. After a sluggish start to the year, Gorman's started to turn things around, going 8-for-21 (.380) with seven RBI in his last six contests. He's boosted his slash line to .220/.308/.451 with 25 RBI, 23 runs scored and two stolen bases through 185 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:06 pm

    • Fans nine in second win
Skenes (2-0) picked up the win in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the Tigers, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: After the Pirates got blanked 8-0 by Tarik Skubal and the Tigers in the opener, Skenes made sure his squad wouldn't get swept as he generated 19 swinging strikes among his 96 pitches in a dominant performance. The rookie right-hander has reeled off three straight quality starts after lasting just four innings in his big-league debut May 11, and Skenes will carry a 2.45 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 30:5 K:BB through 22 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Dodgers. • Paul Skenes fans nine in victory over Tigers
Paul Skenes flashed his dominance in Wednesday afternoon’s victory over the Tigers, piling up nine strikeouts over six innings of two-run baseball.

Advice: The 22-year-old right-hander scattered just three hits and one walk on the day. The Tigers scratched out a run in the second inning on a sacrifice fly, then Matt Vierling crushed a solo homer in the sixth inning, but that was really the extent of the Tigers’ offense against him. Skenes generated a whopping 19 swinging strikes on 96 pitches in the contest — 11 on his splitter, seven on his fastball and one on his slider — while posting a strong CSW of 32 percent. Now 2-0 on the season, he’ll carry a stellar 2.45 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and a 30/5 K/BB ratio (22 innings) into Wednesday’s showdown against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:34 pm
    • Kyle Harrison allows two homers in loss to Phillies
Kyle Harrison surrendered four runs over five innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Harrison was knocked around for a staggering 12 hits, including homers by Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos, so it’s pretty remarkable that he managed to limit the damage to just four runs over five frames of work. He racked up five strikeouts and only handed out one free pass. The 22-year-old southpaw will bring a respectable 4.15 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 60/22 K/BB ratio across 65 innings (12 starts) into a road tilt on Tuesday against the division-rival Diamondbacks.
