Berrios (7-6) earned the win against the Yankees on Thursday, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out eight batters over seven innings.

Advice: Berrios had been struggling coming into Thursday, allowing nine runs over 11 frames across his past two starts. He rebounded nicely against New York, giving up just two runs on a fifth-inning homer by Trent Grisham. The right-handed hurler also registered a season-high eight strikeouts en route to his 12th quality start. Berrios has posted a mediocre 6.6 K/9 on the campaign but is nonetheless in the midst of a fine season with a 3.38 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over 104 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 pm
    • Berrios picks up seventh win over Yankees Thursday
Jose Berrios allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Blue Jays’ 9-2 victory over the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: Berrios gave up two hits, walked three and struck out eight. The win was his seventh of the year and second in June. The eight strikeouts were a season-high for Berrios. His struggles with the home run continued as he has allowed a home run in each of his last five starts and 11 of his last 12 starts. Both runs Berrios allowed came on the two-run home run he gave up to Trent Grisham in the fifth inning. He has a 3.38 ERA and 4.34 xFIP on the season. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Astros at home next week.

    • Garcia blasts 15th home run in loss Thursday
Adolis Garcia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: Garcia’s home run was his 15th of the season. It hasn’t been Garcia’s best season, but he’s showing what it means to possess a solid floor. He’s only hitting .219, but he’s still on pace for around 30 home runs with 15 stolen bases and run totals in the mid-80s. Even though Garcia isn’t repeating the monster season he produced last year, he’s still carving out a pretty nice year for himself.

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) progresses to hitting again
Kyle Tucker (shin) progressed to taking 30 swings off a batting tee earlier this week.

Advice: Tucker is close to resuming running again after landing on the injured list earlier this month with a right shin contusion. It’s a positive sign that he’s progressed to taking some swings again. There isn’t a definitive timetable for his return, but he’s definitely going to need at least a brief minor league rehab assignment before rejoining Houston’s lineup. • Likely back when first eligible
Blackmon (hamstring) will meet the Rockies at the start of their series against the White Sox on Friday and is likely to be activated from the injured list when first eligible Saturday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Blackmon has been working out in Denver and is apparently fully recovered from the hamstring strain. The veteran outfielder's return hasn't been made official, but it appears he'll end up spending only the 10-day minimum on the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:38 am
    • Lone bright spot in loss
Judge went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and a walk in a loss to the Mets on Wednesday.

Advice: Though the Yankees suffered through an ugly loss to their crosstown rival, Judge kept chugging along, smashing a 400-foot, two-run homer in the sixth inning for his team's only runs. The long ball was the slugger's 10th through 21 games in a monstrous June during which he's also produced 32 RBI. Judge is the league leader with 30 home runs on the campaign, and he's just the third player in MLB history to reach 30 homers before the All-Star break three times in his career, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. • Dominant in seventh victory
Cease (7-6) earned the win over Washington on Wednesday, pitching seven scoreless innings during which he allowed one hit and issued two walks while striking out nine batters.

Advice: The only hit Cease surrendered during his seven frames was a two-out single by Nick Senzel in the fifth inning. Remarkably, this was the San Diego right-hander's third outing this season during which he gave up exactly one hit in seven frames, and he unsurprisingly has picked up a victory in all three of those starts. Cease had been struggling coming into Wednesday, giving up 11 runs over his previous two starts covering 8.1 innings during his worst two-game stretch of the campaign. He's had a few clunkers among his 17 appearances this season but has solid numbers overall with a 3.84 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 125:30 K:BB across 98.1 frames. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:50 pm

    • Aaron Judge crushes 30th home run
Aaron Judge went 2-for-2 with a two-run homer and walk on Wednesday against the Mets.

Advice: Judge’s league-leading 30th long ball was the extent of the Yankees’ offense in this one. While the team is scuffling, Judge certainly hasn’t with nine home runs and 22 RBI in his last 15 games. Silly numbers from the most productive player in baseball. • Quality start in no-decision
Singer came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Marlins, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The right-hander delivered his sixth quality start of the season on 92 pitches (63 strikes) and completed seven innings for the first time since his first outing of the year, March 31 against the Twins. Despite the impressive performance, Singer left the mound in line for his fifth loss before the Royals' offense woke up in the bottom of the eighth inning. He'll take a 3.12 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 85:26 K:BB through 89.1 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Rays. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:58 pm
