    • Picks up 14th steal
Henderson went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 3-2 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Henderson has usually made an impact with power, but he flashed his speed Friday. He stole third base and scored on an error following his leadoff single in the first inning. The shortstop is 16-for-46 (.348) over his last 11 games, lifting his season slash line to .288/.379/.599 through 87 contests. He's added 27 home runs, 14 steals, 60 RBI, 76 runs scored, 18 doubles and four triples. Rotowire.com 36 minutes ago

    • Javier Assad (forearm) completes bullpen session
Javier Assad (forearm) threw a bullpen session on Friday.

Advice: Assad landed on the injured list last week with a right forearm strain, so it’s an extremely encouraging sign that he came out of Friday’s side session without any issues. The 26-year-old righty might be able to jump right back into Chicago’s starting rotation mix without requiring a minor league rehab assignment. Rotoworld Today, 8:29 am

    • Belts clutch homer Friday
Profar went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 10-8 win against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Profar's long ball was a big one, as it knotted up the score in the bottom of the ninth after Arizona had taken the lead with a six-run top of the frame. It also gave the outfielder two consecutive contests with a homer following a 19-game stretch during which he went deep just once. Profar is in the midst of his best big-league campaign, slashing .316/.409/.490 with 13 home runs, 57 RBI, 51 runs and five stolen bases over 364 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 7:20 am
    • Gleyber Torres out Saturday with groin injury
Gleyber Torres (groin) is absent from the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Red Sox.

Advice: Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Torres could be available off the bench on Saturday afternoon following an early exit from Friday’s game against the Red Sox due to right groin tightness after legging out a fourth-inning infield single. The 27-year-old infielder has been playing through a lingering minor groin issue for the last few weeks. It’ll be Oswaldo Cabrera at the keystone in his absence. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Today, 7:15 am

    • Sitting Saturday
Torres (groin) isn't in the Yankees' lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Torres made an early exit from Friday's game due to groin tightness. Although he won't start Saturday, the Yankees are hopeful that the 27-year-old could be available off the bench, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. Oswaldo Cabrera will get the nod to start at the keystone and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Today, 7:11 am

    • Struggles continue Friday
Holmes blew his fifth save chance of the season in Friday's 5-3 extra-inning loss to the Red Sox, giving up two runs on two hits in the ninth inning without striking out a batter.

Advice: With two outs in the ninth and the Yankees holding a 3-1 lead, Holmes gave up a single to Dominic Smith before leaving a sinker over the middle of the plate that Masataka Yoshida blasted to right field for a game-tying homer. Holmes has been tagged for runs in five of seven appearances since his last save June 9, stumbling to a 10.80 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in 6.2 innings over that stretch despite an 8:0 K:BB. His spot as the Yankees' closer doesn't seem to be in jeopardy yet, but the 31-year-old will likely need to right the ship before the trade deadline if he doesn't want New York shopping for his replacement. • Jurickson Profar ties game with solo blast in 9th
Jurickson Profar hit a game-tying homer in the ninth to help the Padres to a victory on Friday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Profar tied the game at 8-8 with a homer off Paul Sewald in the bottom of the ninth. The 31-year-old continues to impress in his breakout campaign with a .316/.409/.490 slash along with 13 homers and 57 RBI. Just like we all expected. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:59 pm
    • Suarez blows save in collapse vs. Diamondbacks
Robert Suarez got just one out and gave up three runs in a blown save against the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: The good news is Suarez didn’t end up with a loss because Paul Sewald was just as bad, if not worse. The bad news is, see above. Suarez was handed a big 7-2 cushion when he came in, but he gave up a grand slam to Alek Thomas — with the three inherited runners not counting against his ERA, and a two-run blast to Randal Grichuk to give Arizona an 8-7 lead. Suarez was then pulled in favor of Stephen Kolek to prevent further damage. Suarez still has an excellent 1.77 ERA and will remain the San Diego closer, but Friday night was an ugly reminder that he — and most closers — are far from infallible. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:59 pm
    • Clay Holmes blows save by giving up homer
Clay Holmes took his fifth blown save after giving up a game-tying two-run homer Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Holmes retired the first two batters he faced, but then a single and a homer ruined his night. The homer, a 405-foot blast from Masataka Yoshida, was just the second he’s allowed in 36 innings this season. He’s been stuck on 19 saves since June 9, and while that’s mostly the fault of his teammates, he has given up runs in five of his last seven appearances. Even though Holmes is almost certainly one of the game’s 15- or 20-best relievers, there is the chance that the Yankees will supplant him in the closer’s role at the trade deadline.
