    • Luis Arraez has two hits, RBI in loss on Sunday
Luis Arraez went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and an RBI on Sunday afternoon as the Padres fell to the Brewers.

Advice: The sweet-swinging 27-year-old got the Padres on the board with a two-out RBI single off of Tobias Myers in the fifth inning. With his two-hit attack, Arraez is now hitting .315/.350/.385 with just two homers, 22 RBI and three stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:55 pm

    • Will throw from mound this week
Williams (back) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday in Milwaukee, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Williams is poised for the next big milestone in his recovery from multiple stress fractures in his back, which have kept him sidelined him for the entirety of the 2024 campaign to this point. If the 29-year-old can avoid any setbacks, he remains on track to return to the Brewers bullpen in late July, likely after the All-Star break. Williams will likely need to complete multiple bullpen sessions before advancing to facing hitters and then heading out on what will likely be a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment. • Nestor Cortes takes tough luck no decision
Nestor Cortes allowed three runs on five hits in seven innings in a loss to the Yankees on Sunday.

Advice: Cortes also struck out seven and walked nobody on the day. At times, he looked more electric than Max Fried, and it was Cortes who had more whiffs, getting 17 swings and misses on 49 swings for a 35 percent whiff rate and 36 percent CSW. Unfortunately, he allowed a solo home run to Jarred Kelenic and got himself into trouble in the fifth innings on three hits and a sac fly. It was more good than bad for Cortes on Sunday, and he’ll now take a 3.40 ERA into a solid start against the Blue Jays next weekend. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:31 pm

    • Takes loss despite quality start
Cortes (4-6) was saddled with the loss Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits over seven innings against Atlanta. He struck out seven.

Advice: Cortes mostly held the Atlanta bats in check to put together his third consecutive quality start and the ninth time this season he's struck out six or more batters, but the Yankees failed to provide any run support and Cortes was left with his sixth loss. Outside of a solo home run by Jarred Kelenic in the third, Cortes' only real trouble came in the fifth, when he allowed two runs on three hits. However, he finished his day strong by retiring all six batters faced in the sixth and seventh. Cortes has tossed 100.2 innings across 17 starts, accumulating 93 strikeouts. He'll take a 3.40 ERA and 1.07 WHIP into his next start, scheduled to take place when the Yankees head to Toronto for a four-game weekend set against the division-rival Blue Jays. • Nestor Cortes strikes out seven Braves in loss
Nestor Cortes allowed three earned runs across seven innings Sunday against the Braves. He struck out seven and walked none as a tough-luck loser.

Advice: Cortes was great Sunday, Max Fried was just better. Jarred Kelenic burned him for a short-porch home run early and then the bottom of the Braves’ lineup rallied in the fifth inning. Otherwise, Cortes was dotting his cutter on the edges all afternoon and kept the Braves’ big bats at bay. He’s had a fantastic season thus far with a 3.40 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 100 2/3 innings. • Eugenio Suárez goes hitless in fifth straight game
Eugenio Suárez went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the loss to the Phillies on Sunday.

Advice: There was talk of Suárez playing less after Geraldo Perdomo came off the IL earlier this month, but it’s barely materialized; he sat out two of Arizona’s first five games with Perdomo back, but he’s now started six in a row, even though his results have remained awful. This is his fifth straight hitless game, and his average is down to .192. His last multi-RBI game came on Apr. 22. Rotoworld Sunday, 11:33 am

    • Sitting against lefty
Winker isn't in the Nationals' lineup for Sunday's game versus Colorado.

Advice: The left-handed bat of Winker will step out of the lineup Sunday as the Nationals prepare to face left-handed starter Kyle Freeland. Ildemaro Vargas will enter to cover left field and bat third while Winker sits. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:42 am

    • Sitting vs. lefty Sunday
Yoshida is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Reds.

Advice: With Cincinnati sending southpaw Nick Lodolo to the mound Sunday, the lefty-hitting Yoshida will begin the game in the dugout. He went 0-for-8 over the first two games of the series, and since returning from a thumb injury June 11, he's gone 4-for-34 with one RBI. Rob Refsnyder will serve as the designated hitter Sunday and bat second. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:11 am

    • Shutting down for weekend
Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday that Jung (wrist) will be shut down for the weekend before he resumes taking live batting practice Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bochy noted that Jung has experienced residual soreness in his surgically repaired right wrist since he rejoined the club Friday, but the Rangers don't seem to view it as a setback and simply opted to have him rest up over the weekend. Jung could be activated from the 60-day injured list later this week if his wrist responds well to Tuesday's live BP session. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:24 am
