    • Not starting against Nats
Abreu is not in the starting lineup for Friday's outing against Washington, FantasyLabs MLB reports.

Advice: The rookie outfielder will start from the dugout as Boston takes on left-hander Patrick Corbin. Abreu is slashing .276/.368/.439 with 13 RBI and five stolen bases on the year. Tyler O'Neill will move from his normal left field spot to fill in for Abreu in right. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago

    • Two RBI in loss
Steer went 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBI in Thursday's 5-4 loss to Arizona.

Advice: Steer delivered two runs on a two-out single in the bottom the seventh inning to tie the game before the Diamondbacks went ahead an inning later. He continues to produce with runners in scoring position, posting a .359 average and 1.022 OPS in such situations. Rotowire.com Today, 5:44 am

    • Halts skid, steals two bags in loss
De La Cruz went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, two steals, a run scored and was caught stealing in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Unsurprisingly, De La Cruz filled up the box score. His fourth-inning single snapped an 0-for-17 slide, and he later delivered a run as part of the Reds' three-run seventh inning to tie the game at 4-4. His aggressiveness on the bases was also on display, swiping his 22nd and 23rd bags; however, that aggression may have cost Cincinnati. After leading off the sixth with a walk and steal, De La Cruz was caught trying to take third base and was not in scoring position when Jake Fraley singled later in the frame. That aggressiveness is something manger David Bell tolerates from De La Cruz, as he told Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. "Right there, he did have more time, but we've also seen him get to third with no outs and lead to a run," Bell said. Rotowire.com Today, 5:34 am
    • Delivers winning run
Carroll went 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: Carroll delivered the go-ahead run on a two-out single in the top of the eighth inning, a half inning after the Reds plated three runs to tie the game. The outfielder returned to the top of the order this week after a season-opening slump dropped him to the lower third in late April. He's worked through the slow start, which he attributed to a flat swing, per Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports. Indeed, Carroll's gotten under balls which has contributed to a pop-up rate of 15.2 percent, more than double than what it was in 2023 (7.3 percent). Rotowire.com Today, 4:43 am
    • Slugs fourth homer
Doyle went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a double in Thursday's 9-1 win against the Giants.

Advice: Doyle keyed a seven-run fourth inning for Colorado with a 430-foot, three-run blast to center field. The long ball ended a 21-game homerless stretch for the outfielder, and he had notched just one RBI over that span. Doyle has been one of the most productive hitters for Colorado this season, though, slashing .276/.317/.455 with four home runs and a team-leading 22 runs and four stolen bases. • Nails down first save
Sewald earned the save in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Reds, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: After allowing a home run to Tyler Stephenson in his season debut Tuesday, Sewald looked much better in his first save chance Thursday, striking out Will Benson and Stephenson to close out the one-run victory. The 33-year-old Sewald is expected to step back in as Arizona's primary closer after missing the first month of the season with an oblique injury. He recorded 34 saves last year while pitching to a 3.12 ERA in 60.2 innings between Arizona and Seattle. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:58 pm
    • Brenton Doyle swats three-run homer in rout
Brenton Doyle hit a three-run homer in a blowout win over the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Doyle blasted a homer off Keaton Winn with a pair of runners on to extend the Colorado lead to 6-1. The 25-year-old has shown vastly improved pop in the early portion of 2024, as he’s up to four homers and a .455 slugging percentage. It’s probably not sustainable — and the numbers have already dropped after a red-hot April — but it’s nice to see offensive progress from a player who was not an effective hitter whatsoever in 2024, even while playing in some of the friendliest confines for half of his games. • Corbin Carroll knocks in go-ahead run against Reds
Corbin Carroll knocked in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Thursday to help the D-Backs to a 5-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: In what has been a very disappointing season for Carroll, the 23-year-old came up big Thursday with an RBI single to score Tucker Barnhart that broke a 4-4 tie and ultimately gave Arizona the victory. The 23-year-old was one of the best fantasy players regardless of age, and while his .206/.300/.270 slash is anything but ideal, there’s obvious reasons to believe he’ll bounce back considerably in the summer months. • Paul Sewald picks up first save against Reds
Paul Sewald threw a scoreless inning to pick up a save Thursday against the Reds.

Advice: Sewald has his first save of the season after missing the first month-plus of the season with an oblique strain. The right-hander looked good while picking up the save with two strikeouts, no hits allowed and 8-of-11 offerings landing for strikes. Sewald should see the bulk of save chances for Arizona now that he’s back healthy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:29 pm
