    • Moved up to start Sunday
Severino will move up in the Mets' rotation to start Sunday against the Cubs, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: Severino had been slated to start Tuesday versus his former club, the Yankees, but will be bumped up a couple days to take the ball on regular rest. David Peterson had been on turn for Sunday but now figures to take the ball next week against the Yankees. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:32 am

    • Strikes out nine
Greene allowed just two hits over 6.1 innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the Pirates. He struck out nine.

Advice: Greene was dominant Wednesday, matching a season high with nine strikeouts while turning in his first scoreless outing since May 3. However, the right-hander was stuck with a no-decision, as the Reds couldn't break through against Mitch Keller in an eventual 1-0 loss. Still, it was an impressive performance from the 24-year-old Greene, who had struggled to a 5.60 ERA while issuing 12 walks over 17.2 innings in his previous three starts. Overall, he's 5-2 on the year with a 3.35 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 98:37 K:BB across 88.2 innings. Greene's currently scheduled for a rematch with the Pirates at home in his next start. • Another scoreless outing
Lopez (5-2) earned the win Wednesday over the Tigers, allowing seven hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out six.

Advice: It's the second straight scoreless outing for Lopez, though he failed to make it through six innings for just the second time in his last six starts. The 30-year-old right-hander lowered his ERA to a remarkable 1.57 with a 1.08 WHIP and 76:23 K:BB across 74.1 innings this year. Lopez is currently lined up for a road matchup with the Cardinals early next week in his next start. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:54 pm

    • Reynaldo López shuts out Tigers for five in win
Reynaldo López scattered seven hits over five scoreless innings in a victory over the Tigers on Wednesday.

Advice: Both Lopez and Tarik Skubal allowed seven hits in this one, but every one López surrendered was a single and they were all spread out; he allowed one each in the first three innings and two apiece in the fourth and fifth. It meant López was in no position to go deep today, but he didn’t need to in a 7-0 game. López moved to 5-2 with a 1.57 ERA. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:31 pm

    • Hunter Greene posts nine strikeouts vs. Pirates
Hunter Greene matched a season-high with nine strikeouts over 6 1/3 shutout innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

Advice: Greene locked horns with Pirates starter Mitch Keller in a throwback pitcher’s duel on Wednesday afternoon at PNC Park, limiting Pittsburgh’s lineup to just four baserunners (two hits and a pair of hit batters) into the seventh inning. The hard-throwing 24-year-old right-hander’s four-seam fastball velocity was up slightly in this one to 98.5 mph as he generated an impressive 17 swinging strikes, with 16 of those courtesy of his fastball/slider combo. It was a relief to see him avoid handing out any free passes in this one after issuing a season-high five walks in his previous outing. He’ll carry a solid 3.35 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 98/37 K/BB ratio across 88 2/3 innings (15 starts) into a rematch against the Pirates on Tuesday back in Cincinnati. Rotoworld Wednesday, 11:49 am

    • Cruises to fourth win
Cortes (4-5) picked up the win in Tuesday's 4-2 victory over the Orioles, allowing five hits over six scoreless innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

Advice: The crafty lefty was at his baffling best, and the only runner Baltimore got past second base against Cortes came on an Austin Wells passed ball in the sixth inning. Cortes threw a season-high 105 pitches (64 strikes) in the outing, his first time in triple digits since April 20, while the quality start was his second straight and seventh of the campaign. He'll take a 3.36 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 86:18 K:BB through 93.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home this weekend against Atlanta. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:13 am

    • Shelled for six runs
Severino did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 7-6 win over Texas, allowing six runs on eight hits and one walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out one.

Advice: After yielding just one run through four innings, the New York right-hander unraveled in the fifth, allowing five runs on five hits, including two homers. Severino also produced only five whiffs on his way to collecting a season-worst one strikeout. The 30-year-old's velocity on his entire arsenal was down in this outing, anchored by a sinker that averaged 94.5 mph, down 1.2 mph. Severino is currently scheduled to make his next start against his former team -- the Yankees -- at home next week. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:50 pm

    • Luis Severino gives up six runs to Rangers
Luis Severino was tagged for six runs in 6 1/3 innings by the Rangers on Tuesday.

Advice: Severino struck out one and gave up two homers, which is never a good ratio. His velocity was down a bit tonight, and he wound up with just five missed swings and a 17% CSW. As much twitter concern as there was about Severino after his season debut 2 1/2 months ago, this is probably his most discouraging outing of the season to date. We wouldn’t want to play him in his start against the Yankees next week. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:46 pm

    • Nestor Cortes blanks O’s for six innings in win
Nestor Cortes pitched six scoreless innings while striking out six to earn the win on Tuesday against the Orioles.

Advice: Cortes needed 25 pitches to get through the first inning, thanks in part to back-to-back singles by Adley Rutschman and Ryan Mountcastle. He would eventually settle in to pitch six scoreless innings without walking a batter. The five hits Cortes allowed all came on singles as he did everything within reason to hold a powerful Orioles lineup in check. Cortes has been feisty at home all season and draws another home start on Sunday against the Braves. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:16 pm
