    • Clobbers homer
Lowe went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an RBI single during Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Brewers in 10 innings.

Advice: Lowe teed off on Dallas Keuchel Wednesday, tagging the Brewers' starter for an RBI single in the second inning before launching a two-run shot off Keuchel in the fourth. The long ball was Lowe's first in 37 games and his third of the campaign. He's batting .257 with nine runs and seven RBI over 23 games in June. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:10 pm

    • Spencer Torkelson homers twice in Triple-A game
Spencer Torkelson went 3-for-4 with two homers and six RBI for Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

Advice: Torkelson had some nice games immediately after being sent down by the Tigers, but he was in the midst of a two-week slump before breaking out of it last night. Overall, he’s at .274/.372/.452 with three homers in 18 games for Toledo. The Tigers might give him another opportunity soon, but there’s a good argument that Parker Meadows, who has hit .285/.378/.519 since his demotion, is more deserving at this point. • Nathaniel Lowe goes 0-for-4, fans three times
Nathaniel Lowe went 0-for-4 and struck out three times against the Brewers in Monday’s loss.

Advice: Lowe looked like a long-term answer at first base for the Rangers in 2022, but his power production fell off last year and has continued to decline this season, as he’s managed just two homers and three barrels through 228 plate appearances. His .351 OBP is nice, so it seems unlikely that the Rangers will try to upgrade this summer. However, if he fails to step it up, he’s going to be a non-tender candidate this winter. • Swipes rare bag
Lowe went 0-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 6-0 win over the Royals.

Advice: The first baseman remains stuck in a 32-game power drought -- he launched his last home run May 14 -- but Lowe found a way to contribute. The steal was his second of the season, and while he did pilfer a career-high eight bags in 2021, he's managed only five stolen bases in 373 games since then. Lowe is slashing .214/.294/.262 during his homerless streak with just five doubles, nine RBI and nine runs. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:29 am

    • Knocks three hits
Lowe went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Friday's win over Kansas City.

Advice: Lowe did most of his damage in the sixth inning when he hit a ground-rule double and came around to score the go-ahead run. He entered Friday's game in an 8-for-42 (.190) slump over 12 appearances since his last multi-hit performance June 5. He hit .343 through 18 games to begin his 2024 campaign but has since gone 25-for-118 (.212). For the season, Lowe is slashing .259/.352/.346 with 12 extra-base hits and 21 runs scored. • Nathaniel Lowe has three hits in win over Royals
Nathaniel Lowe went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored as the Rangers defeated the Royals in Arlington.

Advice: Lowe singled to help along a Rangers’ rally in the fourth inning, but he was ultimately cut down at the plate attempting to score. The 28-year-old first baseman then doubled in the sixth inning and scored the go-ahead run on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Jonah Heim. With his three-hit attack, Lowe is now slashing .259/.352/.346 with just two homers, 21 RBI and one stolen base on the year. Rotoworld Friday, 7:49 pm

    • Alex Kirilloff set to see back specialst
Alex Kirilloff, now on the major league IL, said the Twins knew about his back problem before sending him down last week and that he had an MRI back on May 26.

Advice: This definitely wasn’t a case of a player hiding an injury and admitting to it after getting sent down; Kirilloff had been receiving daily treatment before games. Still, the Twins were upset that Kirilloff didn’t communicate of the severity of the problem, which he says has made it difficult for him to rotate on swings. Kirilloff wanted to keep playing through it in the majors, but after he was sent down to Triple-A, he decided it was better to shut it down for a spell, and he’s now set to see a back specialist. • Dealing with back injury
Kirilloff's option to Triple-A St. Paul was rescinded Tuesday, as the Twins placed him on the 10-day injured list due to back soreness and nerve issues, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The demotion was initially reported after Wednesday's win against the Rockies, but Kirilloff is instead back with the big club as the injury is evaluated. The 26-year-old underwent an MRI in late May, but he apparently didn't communicate how troublesome the injury had become as he attempted to play through it. It's unclear how long Kirilloff is expected to be sidelined, but the Twins could plan out a lengthy rehab assignment given his .654 OPS and career-worst 26.4 percent strikeout rate this year. • Twins put Alex Kirilloff on 10-day IL with back issue
Twins placed 1B/OF Alex Kirilloff on the 10-day injured list with back soreness.

Advice: The exact nature of the injury is a bit unclear at the moment, but Kirilloff’s recent demotion to Triple-A St. Paul has been rescinded as he’ll head to the injured list instead. The 26-year-old indicated Tuesday that he was playing through a lingering back issue in the majors before being sent down last week. The former top prospect has struggled this season and it’s fair to speculate whether he still fits into Minnesota’s long-term plans anymore. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:23 pm
