      Kyle Tucker blasted his league-leading 12th home run on Friday night, helping to power the Astros to a 5-2 victory over the Tigers in the opener of their three-game set in Motown.

      Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora announced Friday that Masataka Yoshida will not require surgery on his injured left thumb.

      Advice: He’s still going to be shut down for a couple of weeks before he starts swinging a bat again, but overall this is encouraging news for the Red Sox and for fantasy managers. Yoshida has been shelved since the beginning of May. He has hit .275/.348/.388 with a pair of homers, 11 RBI and an 11/6 K/BB ratio over 89 plate appearances in 24 games on the season.       Advice: Yoshida is battling a strained left thumb and, up until this point, surgery was not off the table. After seeing his third specialist, it's been decided that he'll be able to go straight into rehab without it.
