    • Tanner Bibee strikes out career-high 12 in win
Tanner Bibee struck out 12 batters in six shutout innings on Wednesday in an 8-0 win over the Mariners. He scattered three hits and walked just one.

Advice: This was Bibee’s second straight start where he struck out double digit batters - the first two times of his career. His slider and curveball were both lethal while his fastball velocity stayed above 95 MPH and induced five swings and misses. His fastball has been hit hard this season with opposing hitters slugging .581 against it and its -14 Run Value is the lowest for any pitch single pitch in the league. Seeing it this effective is a great sign for Bibee as he looks to stay hot. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:12 pm

    • Bryan Woo yanked after four innings
Bryan Woo allowed three earned runs in four innings on Wednesday against the Guardians. He struck out one, walked one in a loss.

Advice: This was Woo’s first start in 13 days after yet another health scare and he was not sharp. It took him 30 pitches to get through the first inning and he had trouble settling in. He retired the final seven batters he faced after Steven Kwan took him deep in the second inning, but without missing many bats. He forced just five whiffs and Guardians’ hitters fouled off 22 of the 64 pitches Woo threw in this forgettable start. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:09 pm

    • Nearing mound work
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Wednesday that Rodriguez will likely begin throwing off a mound within the next week after the latest imaging on his left shoulder showed "almost 100 percent healing," Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Rodriguez has been out all season with a left shoulder strain, having hit a roadblock in April when he experienced renewed tightness. He's trending in a positive direction now, although he'll require a lengthy ramp-up period upon resuming mound work. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:50 am

    • Eduardo Rodriguez (lat) gets good news after MRI
Eduardo Rodriguez’s MRI over the weekend came back as hoped, and he could throw off a mound next week.

Advice: Rodriguez has been sidelined since the spring with a lat strain. The best-case scenario at this point is probably for a return shortly after the All-Star break. Rotoworld Wednesday, 11:46 am

    • Winds up with win
Duran (3-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Tampa Bay, striking out two during a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Duran took the mound in the top of the ninth inning with the game tied, 6-6, and didn't allow a hit for a fifth consecutive appearance. After Carlos Santana delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth, Duran ended up qualifying for his third win of the campaign. The Twins' closer is 11-for-11 on save chances this season and owns a 3.43 ERA across 21.0 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:24 am
    • Improves to 6-5
Miller (6-5) earned the win Tuesday against the Guardians, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: It was another solid outing from Miller, who's now allowed just two earned runs over 12.2 innings in his last two starts. While he's been inconsistent at times this year, the 25-year-old Miller has turned in a respectable 3.46 ERA with a 1.01 WHIP and 82:26 K:BB across 15 starts (88.1 innings). Miller will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently lined up for this weekend in Miami. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:49 pm

    • Bryce Miller survives in win over Guardians
Bryce Miller allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits in 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Miller walked two and struck out two on the day. He had just six whiffs on 43 swings on the day, leading to a 14 percent whiff rate and 22 percent CSW on the day. The only pitch Miller recorded a whiff on all day was his fastball with his other pitches getting zero whiffs on 16 combined swings. The 25-year-old has a solid 3.46 ERA on the year, but the secondaries have yet to develop in a way that gives us confidence in his swing-and-miss upside this season. He remains a solid fantasy option and should be in for a good start against the Marlins this weekend, but it may take a pitch mix change to unlock the strikeouts that will give him a higher fantasy ceiling. • Justin Verlander heads to IL with neck discomfort
Astros placed RHP Justin Verlander on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 16, with neck discomfort.

Advice: Houston’s decision to put Verlander on the shelf doesn’t come as much of a surprise after skipper Joe Espada told reporters earlier on Tuesday that the 41-year-old veteran was progressing “slower than expected” in his recovery from a lingering neck issue, which has been bothering him for a couple weeks now. He’ll get an extended break in an effort to put the issue to bed. No word yet on how the Astros will fill his spot in their injury-depleted starting rotation moving forward. • Moves to injured list
The Astros placed Verlander on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to Sunday, due to neck discomfort.

Advice: Manager Joe Espada said earlier Tuesday that the veteran right-hander was progressing slower than expected from the neck discomfort that scratched him from Saturday's scheduled start, and he'll be sidelined for at least a couple turns through the rotation. Verlander is without an official timeline for return, but he'll be eligible to be activated from the injured list at the start of July. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:56 pm
