Otherwise, Hicks faced just two batters over the minimum during the other four innings, recording at least seven strikeouts for the fourth time this season.       Advice: Guerrero both started and capped the scoring in the contest with an RBI double in the first inning and a solo homer in the sixth. The first baseman recorded his fourth straight multi-hit game, a span in which he's gone 9-for-19 with with three homers and 11 RBI.       Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, a double, a home run and two RBI against the Yankees on Thursday.



      Advice: Guerrero Jr. started the scoring with an RBI double in the first inning and his solo home run in the sixth inning gave the Blue Jays a 9-2 lead. He’s hit a home run in four of his last six games and is 11-for-27 (.407) with 12 RBI in that time. Guerrero Jr. is hitting .289 with 11 home runs and 42 RBI on the season.

      Jordan Hicks gave up three runs in five innings while striking out seven against the Cubs on Thursday, but he didn’t factor into the decision.

      Advice: All three runs were given up in the third, as he gave up a two-run homer to Nico Hoerner and an RBI triple to Seiya Suzuki. The right-hander was strong outside of that frame while showing off his swing-and-miss stuff.       Spencer Turnbull will miss 6-8 weeks with a right lat strain.

      Advice: It’s a significant loss for the Phillies, especially with Taijuan Walker (finger) also on the shelf due to injury. The 31-year-old righty suffered the injury on Wednesday during his return to Philadelphia’s starting rotation and will likely wind up sidelined until at least early-to-mid August.       Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Thursday that he expects Turnbull (lat) to be sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

      Advice: Turnbull suffered a right lat strain in his first start back in the Phillies' rotation Wednesday and was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday. Given the pitcher's lengthy injury history, the team will proceed with extra caution.       Phillies placed RHP Spencer Turnbull on the 15-day IL with a right lat strain.

      Advice: Turnbull was removed from his start on Wednesday after pitching just three innings; however, the right-hander doesn’t think the injury is anything serious. He wanted to tell the Phillies as soon as he felt anything to make sure he didn’t aggravate the soreness he was feeling. There is no timeline yet for his recovery, but Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that Michael Mercado would be the number five starter if Turnbull had to miss time.       The Phillies placed Turnbull (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right lat strain.

      Advice: Turnbull had to depart Wednesday's start against the Tigers with right shoulder soreness. It's not yet clear how much time Turnbull might miss, but it's certainly the type of injury that could cost the right-hander several weeks.
