Hernandez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Since Max Muncy made his last start May 15 before landing on the injured list with an oblique strain, Hernandez has served as the Dodgers' primary option at the hot corner. However, after starting at third base in the first seven games of Muncy's absence, Hernandez's hold on an everyday role may be slipping. He'll be on the bench for the second day in a row, with Chris Taylor getting the nod at the hot corner Wednesday after Miguel Rojas occupied the position Tuesday. Hernandez's move to the bench comes while he's supplied just five hits in 37 at-bats (.135 average) over his last 13 games. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

    • Retreating to bench Wednesday
Loftin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Loftin had started in six of the previous seven games and looks to have emerged as the Royals' preferred option at second base in the absence of Michael Massey (back), but Loftin will give way to Garrett Hampson at the keystone Wednesday. Since being called up from Triple-A Omaha on May 26, Loftin is hitting .261 with an RBI and a run scored. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

    • Losing work at second base
Frazier is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Frazier appeared set to take over as the Royals' primary second baseman when Michael Massey (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list May 26, but Nick Loftin has seen the majority of the starts at the keystone over the past week. The 32-year-old had been included in the lineup in both of the the Royals' previous two games, but both of his starts came in the corner outfield while Loftin manned second base. Neither Frazier nor Lofton will start Wednesday, however, as Garrett Hampson covers the keystone while MJ Melendez and Hunter Renfroe cover the corner-outfield spots. • Not in Wednesday's lineup
Norby is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Toronto.

Advice: Norby started the first two games of the series and cranked his first major league home run (and hit) Tuesday, but he'll begin Wednesday's festivities on the bench. Jordan Westburg will play second base while Ramon Urias gets a start at third. Rotowire.com 33 minutes ago

    • Taking seat Wednesday
Freeman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Though he's moved out of the leadoff spot since the Guardians brought back Steven Kwan from the injured list Friday, Freeman has continued to thrive with four hits -- including a game-winning home run Tuesday -- and a stolen base over his last four games. Utility man Daniel Schneemann will get the nod in center field Wednesday in what looks to be little more than a maintenance day for Freeman, who had started in each of Cleveland's last 20 games. • BoSox prospect Nick Yorke bumped up to Triple-A
The Red Sox have moved Nick Yorke up to Triple-A Worcester, according to the Boston Herald’s Mac Cerullo.

Advice: Yorke, a 2020 first-round pick, was hitting a modest .251/.325/.366 in 45 games at Double-A Portland. His stock is down from a couple of years ago, but there’s still hope for him as a starting second baseman. He only turned 22 in April. Rotoworld 47 minutes ago

    • Retreating to bench
Schmitt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Schmitt started at shortstop in each of the previous four games and went 5-for-12 with a pair of home runs, but he still looks to be stuck in a part-time role with the Giants. He benefited from Thairo Estrada missing three of the previous four games with a thumb injury, resulting in Brett Wisely picking up starts at the keystone on all three occasions. Wisely and Estrada should serve as the Giants' primary middle infielders now that both are healthy, and Schmitt could be at risk of a demotion to Triple-A Sacramento once shortstop Nick Ahmed (wrist) makes his way back from the 10-day injured list. • Idle against lefty
Wisely is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Wisely will hit the bench for the second day in a row while the Giants face off against another southpaw (Jordan Montgomery). Tyler Fitzgerald will get the nod at shortstop Wednesday, but Wisely should see the majority of the starts at the position while Nick Ahmed (wrist) remains on the injured list. • Exits starting nine
Marte is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Giants.

Advice: Marte had started each of the previous 18 contests for the Diamondbacks but will receive some rest during Wednesday's afternoon tilt. Blaze Alexander will cover second base for Marte. Rotowire.com Today, 10:15 am
